When I bought mine from Cole it was attributed to Bill Stroud work. His statement was well Doolie has offered 120 for it. My reply was 200 and sold followed. The next time I saw Cole he attributed it truthfully as Joss East as he was no longer in sales mode. It made no difference to me as it's not going up for sale and plays great for me no matter who made it.did not matter too much to him as he could just call bill stroud and have another in a couple days. or danny i guess.
I have been playing with my Joss (east) since the late 80s. Ivory ferrule and stainless joint along with the taper and weight to suite Cole Dixon. The Irish linen wrap got nicked and I removed it to find Coles name and date in ink under the wrap. Coles style led to him playing against his cueI met in at times. His fondness for Stolies vodka contributed to his pawning habit. So Joss had his specs on file and could make another quickly.
I met Cole in 1984 at Ceasars in Tahoe, the night before the tournament he got upset playing Keith McCready and punched a post holding up the roof . His hand swelled up like a basketball . And he could not play.I have been playing with my Joss (east) since the late 80s. Ivory ferrule and stainless joint along with the taper and weight to suite Cole Dixon.
