What's your speed? I live in Modesto and might be able to point you in the right direction..............:) Marc

i'm a strong c at best. when i was shooting my best i'd break and run in 9 ball about once an hour. not i'm lucky to do it once a day. where do you play at? i've been to championship billiards i think that was the name, wasn't bad. i'd love some pointers though

There is Dave Piona close by to you.I forgot the name of the city and it starts with `F` and it is on the main highway between sacrament and San Francisco. It has my favorite fast food joint `Popeyes`.

You mean fairfield? that's kind of out of the way i figure maybe 2 hours away.

damien overton gives lessons in davis (maybe 15 minutes from sac), pm me and i can give you his email.

I'd recomend Darrel. He lives just south of sacramento so it wouldn't be far from you. He does 3c but also teaches pocket billiards as well. I took 5 lessons from him to help my 8/9 ball game and it did wonders. There really is a lot going on that i never thought about before, he brought all that to light. Affordable too, i highly recomend

For BCA instructors, you can find some listed on the BCA web site -- check out both the active and reserve lists, since the main difference is that "reserve" instructors haven't turned in as many evaluation forms.

Another instructor in the Sacramento area besides Darrell Martineau is Ted Ito. Ted loves to teach and is a very strong player.

As for price, expect $30 to $60 per hour, depending.

There may also be an instructor or two at Championship Billiards in Modesto. I'd try calling.

I heard Championship Billiards (Davenports room) has closed due to rent going up significantly. Property owner had some other plans for that spot.

your money would be better spent traveling to the east coast a getting lessons over the weekend.

As of today, Championship Billiards in Modesto is still open...Owner did have other plans, but nobody knows whats going on......But, still open....

There are rumors that the owner of the building will run and keep open championship billiards. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
