First of all, thanks Dave....it was great meeting you, enjoyed the lesson...

Had a chance to meet up with Blackjack Sunday afternoon in Orlando.....we easily spend 4+ hours working on everything from mechanics, position play, game strategies, drills, and many other facets of the game.....

We met up beforehand, to grab a bite to eat and Blackjack shared a ton of stories.....don't know if I've ever met anyone this excited about everything that is pool....started the lesson with some basic shots, review of mechanics and fundamentals....got some excellent tips and some improvements I can make immediately....worked on position shots and drills.....then went on to game strategy and the mental side....worked on straight pool and nine ball....talked about a few different games.....there was some immediate improvement, although I have much more work ahead of me, and he gave me the tools to continue the process....

Bottom line, the price was very reasonable and I felt I easily got my monies worth....Dave is a great guy, happy with the lesson, and would recommend him to others....if you are in Orlando, look him up....

David is a good teacher. I would definitely recommend that if you ever have the chance to play some with him not to pass it up. He has a wealth of knowledge and knows how to apply it. Although the beard and no beard thing is freaking me out. Clean cut David looks so freaking deferent from beard David.
 
I met up with David this evening in Largo, and we caught up on several years of pool "gossip"! :eek: :D I spoke with him about what Jeeves and I are working on for next year's Super Billiards Expo, and he said he'd love to be part of it. It's going to be a great opportunity for learning, and I'll fill everyone in when we have everything nailed down. :D

Thank you Randy, I really appreciate those coments coming from you. However, you're name did come up in the topics of conversation yesterday - and Scott and I both bow to the master... Randy Goettlicher!

A lot of what we do is based on a dream of yours many, many years ago. The first time I met you was when you came down to El Paso 20 or so years ago to help Gilbert Griego and I set up the Southwest 8 Ball League ... from then on I have always regarded your guidance and expertise in the area of pocket billiard instruction as the very best in the world, and I have always admired your organizational skills (because I don't have any...lol). You played a major role in pioneering the structure of of what we do, and for that all of us owe you a debt of gratitude.
 
Blackjack, had a chance to test things out last night....although I had a few speed issues, the patterns are starting to come much easier....also, it was much easier to see when and how mistakes were made....practicing, ran a 3-pack in 9-ball late last night....although it was just practice, usually running 2 racks in a row is a big deal at my current level, so this was a really good feeling....adjusting to the mechanics changes, it's definitely a learning process, but it will come....

Well ... I was going to say ....

The fact that Scott and I still have our hair just goes to show that we get all of the easy students and Randy doesn't.
