Lessons with Mike Sigel???

Exactly what I was going to say about taking lessons from him. For the same reason I'd keep away from Earl.

I contacted Joe Tucker about some lessons and he had pretty good rates for a full day with a small group. It was under the $500 for the full day, much less an hour.

I suspect Earl would really give you a lesson for your money, and not a speech. I've seen Earl be very helpful to novice players. And you could probably get 3-4 lessons from Earl for the same price as one of Mike's.

during the last ipt challenge match joe rogan was in the box with mike and some other guy that didn't know much if anything about pool, mike mentioned something about a shot and how he'd charge $1000 to teach someone just that 1 shot, towards the end of the night the 3rd guy says something about joe paying mike $50 for a lesson, joe replies "he might sneeze on me for $50"

I took lessons from Mike Sigel in 2004 he charged me $500 for 3 days 4hrs each day.

Depending on how you play or where you're at with you're game, depends on if he can help you... I will explain.

I went to his Billiard/Pool shop in Winter Garden, FL.

Mike just threw out about 10 balls and said ok run the table so I did, then he sets up two spot shots tells me which pocket to shoot them in I do draw Q-ball back to side rail, he is impressed.

And then tells me he may not be able to teach me anything because most of the people that take lessons from him are more less beginning pool players, so i would agree he could teach them alot.

This is not meant to say anything bad about Mike but i really didnt leave knowing much more than I already knew before I got there.

I did get him to show me how he breaks the balls ( I wanted to know because I thought he always broke the balls good ) and that part of his game and I guess thats about all I really got anything out of the 3-day lesson.

But I will agree with what the others have said if you want to know about every tournament he has ever played in and won, you will for a fact know that before you leave.

Again this is nothing against Mike at all just my experience, I like Mike he is really a good person even though he can be mouthy but stuff like that dont bother me Mike or anybody alive can run their mouth til they pass out I could care less I dont listen to what dont pertain to me. Mike has a ton of knowledge about any game on a pool table.

So if you're a beginner you will learn more than you can imagine.

Intermediate you will still learn more than you probably know now.

Borderline ShortStop Speed save you're money and time.

I guess more less whether if I learned anything from him or not more than anything I wanted to pick his brain and him tell me how and what he is thinking when he is at the table. On certain shots what he's looking at and why he shot it that way. Mike's patterns and position play is almost flawless and thats what i wanted to know about. If I remember correctly If any of you guys still have the September or October 2004 Billiards Digest magazine he wrote a article in the BD about some of the questions I ask him about.

Just think if you could ride Efren's Brain for a day forget the pooltable, because when you do get to a pooltable it will probably look different than it ever has.

Why don't you get in contact with Mike in Ojie(???)? Let him tell you how much he will charge. Seems to me, everyone here is guessing. Life's not quite the same for him now. He may be open to negotiation.

Has the word got out that Mike is now in Ojai? I heard something to that effect, recently. Can't say if it's true.

I got 2.. 1 on 1... 4 hour lessons from Randyg for less than that.
and got a solid system designed to make EVERYONE a better pool player and each step was customized to my body and my experience and knowledge as a player..

spending time with a great pool player. is a good way to learn..

spending time with a great pool TEACHER is the best way to learn..

I recommend everybody find an SPF instructor.... it is one solid system built upon another even the system for teaching it is solid...

I would LOVE to spend a day with Mike Sigel .. I am sure I could learn alot about patterns and shot selection..

but I doubt it would help my overall game as much as 2 days with Randy did..
