The top 10 players of any format or discipline, over any time frame. The poll will be for who everyone, subjectively of course, thinks was the best there ever was. .
Why not do a poll for the top 10 players who actually had a career or business and made a living outside pool, and were still able to play the game at a top level!!
I'll start the poll with Jack Calovito! and follow it up with Danny Barouti!

I think the list for successful businessman/player should start with....
...Michael Phelan
...Harold Worst
...Irving Crane
...Arthur Cranfield
Mizerak? Wasn't he a school teacher?
Just nix the whole idea. Less than one day in and the majority of posts are for a different poll than the original idea. Never mind my original post. You folks run your own polls. Clearly you'd rather see other polls, so I think you should go in that direction. It's all good.
A poll would be okay if you separated games and fields, and even eras.
Like....Allison Fisher could be first choice in ladies 9-ball and ladies snooker.
...but to see her on a list where many players are left off that could give
her serious weight doesn't make sense.
If you make a poll for all of billiards, there's really only one player that
can't be argued against logically....
...Walter Lindrum at English billiards.
My opinion, of course
