Lets look at some Mike Cochran's.

MC made Scruggs?
Mike made all the blanks from 1984 til Tim Scruggs Custom Cues closed.
Where and how the notion that a Mike Cochran Scruggs Cues equates to a Cochran logic smells from I am clueless. Mike put the MC logo on his Cochran Cues. He built them to be a step up from a Custom ordered Tim Scruggs Cue which he was a full partner in.
You may think you have something special and if it has a TS on it you do.
That goes for any TS Cue. But a Cue with a MC on it was built with the most premium of woods over a much longer period of time. The best of the best selected woods were used.
Different construction methods also were employed.
Many of them were built along the lines of his best friend Tony's Cues.
They are giant departure from the normal Tim Scruggs Custom Cues. True there were a very few Scruggs Custom's built with lets say the same shaft tappers.
The Mike Cochran Cues were vastly upgraded in every way.

Cochran Cues are a whole different animal. Much like SouthWest and Kerhsenbrook Cues in comparison. The same but not.
It is exactly like someone saying this is a Kersh built SW. Yup that is called a SouthWest not a Kersh.
Cochran Cues are not Scruggs Cues very much in the same way.

One common theme of Mikes cues is the lack of metal rings.
He did not like them, and preferred to use inlayed designs in place of rings.
Something he also started to do with Tim Scruggs cues later.

Always Nickie but I don't need 10 cues and with the others coming I have to clear the stable lol some are collectors but having 200 cues isn't my thing I like to have a few not more than I can enjoy. So I pass on to others in need who appreciate and use the cues I sell. Happy New Years Nickie

He was a great guy and made the best cues. You can't say I don't know a great cue when i see it.
