John,
Come on now, you know that you can give Brian a little something..:)
I was in with Brian when he snuck threw the Tulsa boys a few years back at the DCC. That was fun.

John - I got confused in all the back and forth. What was the answer on Walden, Buddy Hall, Matlock or Jesse B.?

For those that asked, I was told by a friend in mine in Vegas that Marcos Marquez has not been seen in the pool rooms of Chicago in quite sometime. That is a shame because Marcos has always been one of my favorite players to watch. Chris Gentile has the bankroll to matchup with John but personally, and no offense, I don't like his game.

And I don't blame John for not wanting to play the 'jerks' of pool, as he stated in his list. John Morra was the perfect gentleman when gambling with Justin, no b.s. and I hear it is because he has good parents and was raised right. Imagine that. I know it didn't make John feel any better about losing but I told him so after the match. I would go in with John Morra anytime - not that he cares.

I don't agree with John that you should put too good of a friend off your list. If you can't gamble with your friends, then who can you gamble with.

those guys are great and im willing to play even.the thing is ive heard from many what an underdog i am playing guys of that speed 1hole.so basically im asking the players that are maybe one tier below the top guys to play.if nobody wants to try me i guess im stuck with the champs like buddy etc.

John, would you be interested in playing Nick Varner or Billy Palmer?

From what I've seen, Billy is a stronger tournament player than gambler. Under the right circumstances I think it could be a good matchup, Billy is capable of playing really strong. A couple of years ago when I started playing again after a 10 year layoff, Billy was a 196 in the USPPA, at the time he had the highest average any established player had ever attained in the system, and he had done this playing on extremely tough equipment at Family Billiards in S.F. He was spotting Rafael Martinez 1 game in race to 5, that's strong! The crazy thing was that he was still winning the tournaments with that average. I've never seen Billy play 14.1, but I know he is even stronger at 1P than 9-ball.

I've heard Billy has healed well from his recent illness, and think he'd be a great candidate for a one pocket match, but I don't think he's going to play John even at 10-ball or 14.1.

I've never heard of him playing 14.1 and John is obviously one of the best so you can probably just forget about that.

Billy would be a betting underdog at nine or ten ball, but he does play incredible some times so who knows. He dominated the Peschauer tour for awhile, but Rafael ended up the points leader with less tournements a few years ago. I'm not quite sure he has that top gear guys like Rafael and John have.

One pocket, 8-Ball, and slight weight at 9- or 10-ball might be workable.

Marco went back to Mexico about a year ago - hasn't come back yet..............Chris Gentile plays good, but not up to John's speed.

ive actually gambled with everybody on there except shannon, and busty.so im looking for someone easier because im always hearing what an underdog i am playing 1hole .so i figure there must be a group under those top players waiting for me to get brave enough to try them.

John, jmo, but the one guy on that list that I don't think is the favorite over you, is Hopkins - he doesn't play as good as he did back in the day.

John I think a really good match for you would be Neils Feijen. He is a gentleman to deal with and plays some top one pocket. It would be an exciting match.
As a matter of fact, like you, he plays all games well. A match for all 3 disciplines (14.1, 1 pkt, and 10 ball) would be perfect.
Hopefully he would be here for the 14.1 tournament in New Jersey in a couple of months. Maybe something could be arranged then.

Ronnie Wiseman, Adam Smith, Richie Richeson

They should be in that tier below those mentioned.
