just like the title says, i think it would be nice to see what your local pool rooms look like and say what you like about them.

Thanks in advance

Sadly, we have none in my area anymore where I live.

The best pool rooms I've been to on the East Coast are probably Q-Masters in Norfolk, VA and Snookers in Providence, RI. As far as atmosphere conducive to players as opposed to socializing, I have to give high regards to Golden Cue in Albany, NY.

Here's the logo on the side of the building at the old Snookers in Providence, RI before they moved.

Here's the front window of the Golden Cue in Albany, NY that they had painted for an upcoming Joss Tour event. Pretty neat, huh?

I should also recommend highly Drexeline Billiards in Drexel Hills, PA. The pool room has an excellent setup, great equipment with plenty of room to shoot pool. :)

Here is the inside of the old Snooker's in Providence, RI, before they moved. I am not a fan of tan cloth, but I see they have green cloth now at the new Snooker's when I checked out the Jarrod Clowery tournament there last weekend.

Snooker's hosts the Ocean State Championship each year. Notice the banners that hang from the ceiling with the champion's name on it and the year they won it. I think this adds a little coolness to a pool room. I like it! :)

Ginky won it several years.

Here is the Spot Shot Billiard Club in Portland, Maine. It was a very nice pool room. You walked in the front doors and down a staircase. I'm not sure they meet the ADA requirements with that entranceway, but once you are inside, it is very cozy and comfortable.

I went to the 2004 Joss Tour Season Finale and Larry Lisciotti Memorial Tournament there. Danny "Kid Delicious" Basavich won.

I remember the owner well. He was good friends with Larry. He did say, however, that times were tough in the pool room business. I wonder if he still owns it.

I have several posts with pics of my home room in in Ayer, MA

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=314126&highlight=league+night

I also play a few times a month in Snookers, it looks nothing like the pics JAM put up now, I don't have any pics of that room on my phone now, although I did take a bunch of them and some video when my son played in the Wed tournament and drew Mike Dechaine his first round. Lost 5-2 but could have been closer, he missed an easy 9 ball.

Jam if you haven't been to the station in a while, they got on top of the accessibility with have some sort of mechanical lift to get you down the stairs and I believe the sidewalk outside is one big ramp. Last time I went there they were doing probably their third renovation. I'm curious what it's like now and if Kerry H. is still running it day to day.

For better or worse this has become my "main hall" even though there are like 3 I like better.
This is Fast Eddies in Fairfax, VA.

What I like: No more smoking (no flame war please, just saying I personally am loving it).
New manager seems willing to listen and has redone tables and may make some other changes
that will really bring the place up to speed and make it a good room.
Has a big regular crowd on certain days, and is packed on league night.
Nice waitstaff
Pretty good pizza, for a pool hall.

I think I've been to that Fast Eddie's in Fairfax, a long time ago. I also like the no smoking. Been 5-1/2 years, no smoking for me.

Thanks for the sharing the photo. Will definitely have to check it out. I hear Bobby Hawk plays there. It would be fun to run into him and bang a few balls.

This was my all time favorite, THE PONY EXPRESS POOL ROOM in Lance Creek, WY. Of course that was a long time ago and it is probably closed down now. Nice picture of me ... don't ya' think? I'm the one in the dark jacket.

Jam has been to fast Eddie's in fairfax. It was when amar was around and I think he might have seen won there.

Here is a pic from yesterday afternoon. I popped into first break in sterling and felt glad i don't play pool for a living.

Thanks for the great pick. Nice to see the blue cloth. Does the same owner own First Break? It was a nice pool room, stayed open late for action.

Heres my local room.
My friend has a converted chicken coop grafted on to a single wide on his property.:)
Nothing fancy, low budget all the way, except the nice 9ft Olhausen with always fresh Simonis, and the nice Valley bar box just out of the picture to the left.
I live in the sticks of Northern Michigan, there is not an actual pool room within 1 1/2 hours of me.
Fun is where you find it.

Good to see a well groomed and kept table in a small town room, also nice to see small town AZers' the internet and technology has come a long-ways,the pool and billiards future lays in our hands" today's players"
Lets rally for a pro tour!!

Keep up the good work.

P.s- nice beer cooler! Just the right size, nothing better than an ice cold beverage'

NICE ROOM! ...but what the hell is the guy in the yellow doing?

Shotz. Absolutely horrible staff except for the day girl and the owner. Tables are clean, but the cushions need some work right now. Pockets are wide but have rock hard shims that spit out most shots unless you can spin them in. Snooker table is excellent.

There's action but you need to be able to play very well to win.
