Please post pics of cues that you have, that have spectacular wood....wood with beautiful or wild figure in it, or unusual wood that we don't often see....preferably without a lot of inlays that distract from the beauty of the wood....and it would be good if you could say what kind of wood it is, and who built the cue.

Thanks, Ghost

PS, I would particularly like to see any cues out there built of any spalted woods, or, black & white ebony.

PPS, Thought I'd start the ball rolling with these 2 pics....cocobolo with beautiful figuring and killer buckeye burl - sorry, don't know the cocobolo builder - the buckeye is a PFD.

I like this one a lot. It's a Franklin South West, ebony/tulipwood/be maple, 6 high points, wrapless, 2 original shafts with original micarta ferrules and another SW shaft made for this cue. SW made joint protecters. LOA from Laurie and from Brad Simpson, the author of the Blue Book, who owned the cue prior to selling it to me about 8 years ago.

Spectacular Wood

Here is one, MasonH, Crotch Cocobolo and Curly Koa. The pics do not do this cue any justice.

Darrin Hill Cue
Ebony into fiery cocobolo with maple burl handle.
No ringwork, no inlays, just some amazing wood.

Spectacular Woods

The woods used on the cues listed are off the charts, let's see more wood

Here is a Prather blank that I received and was later completed by my local guy Paul Allers. I really need to get better pics of the completed cue itself....but just wanted to show off this wild and crazy wood. It is called Louro Preto, which is apparently a Brazilian Bocote. Little birds' eyes everywhere! First 3 pics are indoor shots...last was taken outdoors on a sunny day.
