just a little production cue that i picked up while in taiwan for xmas, nothing too fancy or pricey. i had KJ, the cuemaker that does Seybert's custom work, mate and match an OB-1 shaft and he did a great job on the ring work, a perfect match! for those curious about how it's done, i've attached a pic KJ sent me of the billet and the ring stack. basically you can get these billets which are wood tubes with various slot configurations and you insert veneers, etc., then slice into rings which are stacked into a collar. pretty neat...

Thank you for your post, the pics and the kind words. I do enjoy my work.
Particularly when I can do something special like this for good people.

I've got about 40/50 billets in stock that I've made, for the more well known cue brands, that I cut rings from when needed. McChen's cue is something different. I'd not heard of the brand and the ring-work was something I'd not seen before so I didn't have a billet in stock for this one. It takes a little time to build a ring-work billet and if it's going to match, it has to be perfect. You can see from the pic of the billet that there are 4 milled slots with 5 inlaid veneers in each slot. Probably the most challenging aspect of this one was matching the thicknesses of the 5 veneers to the originals. Yes, I do enjoy my work.

Thanx again McChen. I enjoyed doing this for you. I hope that you enjoy your cue for a very long time. It's something special. KJ

How do you like the Licos cue?I have seen some of them on the net and am contemplating getting one, they have alot of SW style cues with all real inlays and matching JPs for about $300 US,you cant beat that price for what you get. :)

i think they are very nice quality for a production cue, similar to lucasi. probably a little nicer for the higher end models. they seem to copy SW style a lot. some nice looking designs and the jp's are a nice touch.
i met the guy that owns the factory, he lives in taiwan. the factory mainly makes cues for other brands. Licos is their own brand, but not very well distributed, especially in the US. where on the net have you seen these? the guy told me his cousin in canada imports them and sells them.
