Lil John gets barbecued in Louisville KY

Does LilJohn sell dope or what?? He's been around a long time and has a bad habit of betting high as giraffe balls AND booking losers. He was in Tulsa 20yrs ago and went off like a roman candle.
Not sure about your question although I’d think not. He operates a successful business is my understanding. Likes to bet it up. Doesn’t lose very often. I hadn’t heard about him playing in months and definitely didn’t know Louisville had this jt guy that according to one post allegedly plays somewhere around Demarco’s speed. John plays nowhere around Demarco’s speed in one pocket for sure. Sounds like John matched up poorly.

I was being facetious bud. AFAIK all he's ever done is travel and gamble HIGH. Gotta be some form of income. Never heard of him owning any business.

Has he ever been mentioned on this forum before? How many pool players ever were identifiable by their initials alone?

,,, and what game these two players played remains a mystery. We have an early leader for worst thread of 2026.
Yes, he has been mentioned as he is in the weeds at the Derby every year. Played a few streaming table $ matches.

Yes. I took it that way as no harm. I used to wonder the same thing. Did some internetting to learn he owns some type of waste business. I often wonder about so many of these guys…gamblers in particular. I’ve worked hard in facilities maintenance for 44 years. Retirement in two weeks. So many of these names we talk about never mention any legitimate source of income. None of my business for sure…just often wondered.

That may be true, but never without identifying them by name and giving context regarding who they are.

The initial post was as cryptic and uninformative as could be. Thankfully, a few have come forth and attempted to identify the players, provide the name of the game they played, offer the location and now, offer a link to the match. The original poster could have and should have done all of this.

I am quite certain I have never started a thread with as poor a post as the one that started this one and if I ever do, I should probably be banned and authorize you to suggest as much to the moderators in such an eventuality.
Strong letter to follow.

Many years ago lil John was involved with a match up in the northeast somewhere and the envelope with all the cash vanished during a bathroom break. Accusations were traded and it was talked about quite a bit on AZ. Not sure if that situation was ever resolved.

He owned or was working for a junk removal business

Liljon has always been about that action, not just playing, but betting high and keeping the energy alive. I’m not too familiar with JT, but Liljon? He’s the kind of player who will match up with anybody, anytime. Win or lose, Liljon is good action. He doesn't cry when he loses, and he's not a braggart when he wins.

Meanwhile, Keith the breaker was holding court at the 2005 Super Billiards Expo (SBE) action table in the below-depicted photo, and it turned into absolute chaos in the best way possible. Bets were flying from every direction, “I got $20 on the breaker,” “I’ll take $50 on the racker," nonstop chatter, nonstop action. It was almost comical to watch. Getting the bets down took longer than the 9-ball game itself. Keith held the table for an extended length of time, to the tune of 15 large.

The table was surrounded by all the usual action regulars, packed in shoulder to shoulder. Do you recognize any of them? Standing room only. And here’s the kicker. Railblrds were actually selling their chaits for $50 to those who wanted to sit and sweat the action. I’m not even kidding. Chairs were a rare commodity at the Action Table.

Only at the SBE. Nothing like it. The 2026 SBE started yesterday. I can't wait to read all about it.

Not shit going on as far as I can tell, just the usual loudmouths looking like a gang war pop off at the drop of a cue. 4 - 9ft tables in the action room and 1 bar box with no balls. What a joke, similar last year

I thought he sold hot dogs… Regarding his gambling, he probably has paid off his house/cars and has a fully funded retirement account.

I've watched Lil John for over 20 years -- back to a time when he was just a "kid" from Hattiesburg. Always barking and apparently never feared no one. Just loved action. Always dealt straight-up in my observations. I figure that down here, in the South, John is well known and well respected across a wide spectrum. But then most of us down here don't get around too much and sure ain't never been to no New York City. Just the way we are and how we have rolled.

I've never heard of JT either. Lil jon has been known forever
He's one of those guys who could "be in town for a few days visiting family" and a lot of players, good players wouldn't have to like the action. He makes it to Indiana, but does most of his playing around Railbirds.

i couldn't tell who was who from the video. and it looked like they had the scores for the wrong side posted. and it was a close match.
i did not have audio for mine.

i thought lill john was the smaller black guy, later thought the other. but he wasnt little. neither played anything over short stop speed for what i saw.
