I was actually curious as if the double black linen that altlas carries, have good machining characteristics, and if i should try any?
The phelolic in butt and joint size is what I need a source for, as all I see at atlas is phenolic ferruel material, none in the size i need.
Thanks again, Greg

Thierry have you tried talking to Atlas Fibre themselves?Thierry Layani said:This is the material we use for our joint (it is rolled linen phenolic) and it is quite exceptionnal, we've been using it for over 10 years. It seems that the recipe sometimes changes (because the material is not always the same color) but overall we couldn't live without it. While dealing over the phone with the poor service of Atlas (I have had nothing but problems with them in the last 2 years, sorry I had to let it out of my chest) I was informed that they had a couple of providers for this material. If I could I would jump on a new provider but can't seem to find one. Nobody makes rolled linen phenolic but only laminated linen phenolic. Does anyone know an alternative source for this material.

Not Atlas Billiards?
The last time I went direct to Atlas Fibre, I was talking to someone at the factory. I ordered some paper based phenolics. Best I've seen but still not like the old ones.Thierry Layani said:Will there be a difference? Won't they just refer me to Atlas billiard? I've never really understood the distinction bewteen both, is Atlas billiard just a small branch of Atlas Fibre?
But thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try.

Have you tried talking to Chad? He's a wicked nice guy who gets the job done. Never have I had a bad experience dealing directly with him. He has ALL the info you need.Thierry Layani said:This is the material we use for our joint (it is rolled linen phenolic) and it is quite exceptionnal, we've been using it for over 10 years.
