List of Players for Reno?

OK, I have this pretty much figured out. Places 169-170 are still to be determined, pending the decision on who will replace Buddy Hall and Jim Rempe. I am assuming that they will be 2 qualifiers that are already ranked - like Rico Diks. The place #'s are not the real rankings, because I simply removed all the Q's from the NAO. Obviously, some of them will remain highly placed.

My intention was to figure out the draw. If they just seed by placing, then the top 40 shown below will form the first 40 groups, and each successive 40 would be drawn into their respective groups. For example, taken by the list below, in group 1, you would have #1, Thorsten Hohmann, #41 Markus Juva, #81 - Tony Chohan, #121 - Ronny Wiseman, and #161 - John Kutcher.

The only monkey wrenches in this are that the 2 TBD players will probably already be ranked and so the numbering will have to be done over. Also, the new Q's, I am not sure if they are going to throw them in randomly or alphabetically or chronologically like I have them listed. I did list the player's country beside the new Q's and you can see how truly international this tournament is going to be!

So, FWIW, here are the players for the World Open:

169 Rico Diks (from a reliable source I heard that he's in for this tournament)

170 Luat or Matlock (Matlock better percentages, Luat did slightly better in qualifiers)
Foldes maybe?

-Or let them play for it as a warm-up to the tour.
Invite all who came in third once and let them fight for it. Not everyone will show up in Reno so two poules of round robin will be enough with one final which will decide number 170

- Another option is to invite the Chinese player again who missed out in vegas

- The best option: Invite Michael Jordan as number 170

Linda, I think No76 (Koukiadakis, Andreas) didn't qualify for this event so everyone can move up one place.

Will IPT member Pete Fusco be playing in Reno as he missed out in Vegas? If so, then he will be the same position as all the new qualifiers for this event

I have it from good authority that Pete and Jimmy Fusco will both be in attendance at Reno! :)

Rico Diks finished 3rd twice in the qualifiers.

Shin Park finished 3rd once and 4th twice.

They are the best runners-up out of all the qualifiers.

Jui-Long Chen just missed out with one 3rd + one 4th place finish.

Is Rico from England?

Here's a shot of Rico Diks and Imrad Majid, both smiling, taken at the IPT event in Vegas. I like this picture!

I believe the announcement said that the second tiebreaker was one third place finish with the most events played. I don't believe fourth place finishes was listed as a consideration (maybe the third tiebreaker?). If anyone has a lot of spare time they could go through the list of one-time third place finishers and see if any of them played in all five weeks of qualifiers.

Dennis Orcollo went to Vegas by Qualifying at the Hardtimes. Why didn't he have to qualify for Reno like the others in red?

Pretty sure that IPT announced prior to the NA Open that any qualifier finishing in the top 6 would be granted automatic entry into World Open.

Orcollo was the only qualifier to reach last 6 so would assume that is the reason:)

If total World Open qualifiers played with one third place finish is the second tiebreaker here is a list of third place finishers with qualifiers played.

Shin Park ---------- 5
Michael Schmidt ---- 4
Tony Crosby ------- 3
David Matlock ------ 3

Many tied with two.

I forgot about Orcollo qualifying that way. I suppose that means with Hall and Rempe dropping out there will only be one spot available (unless someone else pulls out) and that will go to Diks.

Ok, thanks everyone for catching all the errors. I took Andreas out, put Rico in because he looks like a lock, put Pete Fusco in, and changed Chu and Furuta's countries. I got them off the IPT website. Of course, they keep spelling Brady Gollan's name wrong too, lol.

Dennis Orcullo is an IPT member.

Thanks spadevil. Orcullo won a Tour Card Qualifier at Hard Times, it was not a North American Open Qualifier.

So I guess there is an opening after Diks gets one after all.

Thank you Linda.

Mike caught another error. Anthony Ginn is a qualifier that did not requalify. If I take him out, who is missing???

The draw should be out today or tomorrow.
