Very Cool, Lenny. Thank you for supporting 14.1.

We have our own little 14.1 tournament at Red Shoes this Saturday, but I will bring my laptop for when I get eliminated and for others to watch.

Thanks to everybody who joined the stream or came out to support this tournament. I'd especially like to thank Skip and Jan's (in Tempe, AZ) and their fantastic staff (Natalie, Kim, Ashley, Charles, Nate, Jerry) for hosting this event, Fast Lenny and OnTheRailTV.com for the the live stream, Mike Howerton for his advertising support and write-ups on AZBilliards.com, Mike Lalumiere for running the tournament board, and Rodney "Babe" Thompson for providing some excellent commentary and sharing some great stories.

We had 7 players come out to play in the tournament:

Charles House (Phoenix, AZ)
Jerry Hartnett (Tempe, AZ)
David Wiseman (Mesa, AZ)
Ray Robles (Gilbert, AZ)
Matt Hall (Lucerne Valley, CA)
Ken Vieira (Tucson, AZ)
Phil Ferranti (Tucson, AZ)

And at the end of it all, the 2 qualifying spots went to:

Ray Robles
Matt Hall

The high run of the tournament was 34 (Ray Robles). Congratulations to the winners and all the players.

Good job and great report, Ray. I guess we will all be seeing you at the World's at the end of the month.

Is Babe Thompson's first name Rodney and is he from Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Sailor Stellman from Racine talked about him to me last year.

I found mention of Rodney Thompson in the 1972 US Open program:

Hey Dennis,

Thanks... I'm looking forward to the tournament.

Yes, Rodney is Babe's first name. Babe has told me many stories about The Sailor. They go back quite a ways :) Babe is quite the accomplished 14.1 player and I consider it an honor to have him as my mentor.

Download the program for him in case he does not have a copy. It has a lot of neat stuff in it.
