Live on TAR the NCS 8-Ball Campionship

i should go down there, man i feel lazy right now. I will later....maybe:boring2:

Glad TAR is on it, Justin came over the other night to my house, he is great. TAR is going places, Justin and Chad are awesome guys that are out there making it happen. They have alot of great ideas and are not full of BS. Its great to see it all come together, TAR is a great thing for pool like AZ has been too, using technology in pool to futher the sport is so important. We just have to get the kids involved too!!

Wow

well the first 4 pm match to be completed was between two top young guns Nick Tafoya of New Mexico who beat Joey Grey 8-1. Would like to see Tafoya on Tar if he keeps this up. Gave a clinic.

NCS 8-ball

I am so proud of my staff and the players of the NCS 8-Ball Championship. The facility is possibly one of the best - and there is a lot of room around all 16 of the Diamond Pro Tables.

I had to be out of town during the set-up and my staff out did themselves. The place looks GREAT.

All matches have started promply on time and all the players are acting like professional. No whining - no ranting - no problems.

A special thanks to Bill Stock and Kenny Schuman for being the Tournament Directors and referee staff.

Ric Jones and his staff did a tremendous job of installing the tables and lights. A special thanks to Holly Ryan for making this all happen.

And Justin from the action report (TAR) - even though he is still sick showed up and really helped out. Trigger was his side kick and we thank her, too.

This could be the start of a really good tradition. For years the US has been asking about a National Champion and now there will be one in 8-ball. The next events will crown National Champions in 9-ball, 10-ball, 14.1 straight pool, and one pocket.

Several sponsors stepped up and offered to help us out. Delta 13 rack, OB cues, and Hustlin clothing. We` appreciate them.

I hope this event gets the coverage it deserves. 56 players won qualifiers through-out the US - and came all the way to the beautiful Golden Nugget. No one got a free ride - everyone had to qualify and there has been some great play.

I just wanted to say some good things about pool - and I am very proud of everyone who helped make this happen. I know I did not mention everyone who had a hand in this - but I had to drive in from Denver (800 miles) earlier today and am kinda tired - but I just wanted to express my gratitude.

I've been watching this series with great interest. So, far I like the feel of the whole thing.

Here in the SF Bay area there has not been much talk about the NCS. I suggest contacting a few rooms in this area to see if they are interested.

The streaming was the coolest. I'm a big 8 ball fan and watching the matches last night I learn alot.

Good luck

The venue layout is just spectacular.Job well done by mark Griffin and his energetic, creative staff.
I am very impressed by everything that has been going on with this event.

Well done.... and great you could have TAR on board for the show!!!!

Day two is getting started and we have Nick Tafoya and Sal Butera on the TAR table as we speak!

I had to stop by the office for a bit this morning, but I wanted to say what a tremendous group of people I feel fortunate to work with. Ken Schuman and Bill Stock are the best, thorough and professional. The team at the CSI and BCAPL offices in Henderson are a true team!

Thanks to the players, the wonderful staff at the Golden Nugget (by the way, this is one of the nicest casinos and hotels in town!) and a tremendous thanks to everyone at OB Cues, Hustlin USA, DELTA-13, Justin at TAR (one of the hardest working people I've ever met), Melinda Bailey (AkaTrigger), Melinda Huang, Samm Diep, AZBilliards for the brackets, and the billiards media, especially The Break, Professor Q-Ball, Sandy of InsideEnglish as well as InsidePool Magazine, Billiards Digest, Pool and Billiards who have all been very supportive of the NCS.

Gotta run, please watch www.theactionreport.com yesterday was a blast, the matches were fantastic and I am sure day two will be the same!

We are gearing up for 9-ball, 10-ball and 14.1 qualifiers. Please contact me if you are a room owner or tournament coordinator who is interested in participating as a qualifier host.

Have a great Sat.

Holly

wrong picture?

The picture on the home page about the NCS 8-ball shows Austin Murphy. The picture on the second page with the story does not appear to be a picture of Austin. Could be a younger picture on second look.
