LIVE Scoreboard at World 8ball Pool in Dubai

They have to finish all the games in the round of 64 first before they can release the round of 32 schedule.

Dennis Orcullo is playing Mark Gray right now.

Is anybody awake on this forum and going to sweat the blinking red dots with me? LOL! :D

JAM

Ronnie Wiseman will be playing Huidji See and is on deck for next round at 8:00 a.m., EST.

Corey Deuel will be up to bat in 6 hours against Konstantin Stepanov. Also in this round will be Darren Appleton versus Jasmin, the lone female of the event.

Come sweat the Americans in. Meanwhile Shane Van Boening is undefeated and has made it to the Final 32.

This is a week-long tournament for 64 players, which seem odd to me why it would take this long. All those in attendance, though, I guess will have a nice vacation and enjoy the country's highlights.

....Jasmin is the only female in this event. I wonder if women are supposed to wear the hijad in Fujairah. It would be difficult to play pool in one of those.....

JAM

It sure would:)

The touristy parts of UAE tends to consist of a mixture of very high class hotels, night clubs and beach clubs of the jet setting beautiful people Monaco type crowd and the lower down the pecking order night clubs and bars where drunks, hot pants, halter neck tops and ladies of the night-a-plenty are the order of the day.

Fujairah, though infinitely quieter and very much more subdued than the above mentioned touristy parts of the UAE, has a few bars and big hotels, lots of beaches where bikinis are the norm and no requirement at all for women to wear any special clothing. No doubt in Jasmin's case there would be many guys in Fujairah who would be more than happy for her to dress for match pool in the same way as she would for the swimming pool;)

Orcullo is trailing 2 to 0 against Mark Gray.

De Luna on the other hand will be pitied against another Filipino
(Alan Cuartero) for the 2nd time.

LOL! JAM, sweating those blinking dots says a lot about ones dedication to the sport. I've sweated that for 2 years now everytime WPA holds the World Juniors Championship! Me and my friends look like a bunch of ding-dongs cheering whenever our boy scores a point or curses to high heavens whenever the opponent scores one. Its such a funny sight to see us huddled around the computer screen drinking beer, cheering or cussing when all it shows on the screen are blinking dots, a couple of flags and names and a couple of numbers.

Amazing what we subject ourselves to! Nobody should be considered a pool junkie until they've seen the light! Blinking red light, that is. LOL!

Ah, this is great to have some fellow forum blinking red dot sweaters! :D

I am amazed that pool players would travel across the world, on their own dime, by the way, to play in a QUALIFIER for this event, with no guarantee that they will even get to compete. That is what I call dedication to the sport for sure. WOW! Marcus Chamat of Sweden did just that. He traveled the world to compete in this qualifier, and fortunately for Marcus, he won the qualifier. I wonder how many players were in each qualifier and how difficult it must be for those who didn't make it.

Ronnie Wiseman is coming up. Looks like he's got another cup cake to play, so there will be no heavy sweating there.

Corey Deuel, on the other hand, looks like he will have to bring his game to the table against Konstantin Stepanov.

Looks like Shane Van Boening gets the day off today. :)

The Filipinos having to play each other sucks.

Alternative live scoring ---> http://www.world8ballchampionship.com/livescore.html

Wow, what's going on with Dennis?!

Who is Radoslaw Babica? I have never heard of some of these players.

The first time I heard of Mark Gray, there was a thread on this forum requesting a nickname for him. I read his bio, and he's an English player with some wins under his belt. Nice-looking chap. Nothing jumped out at me, though, to think that he was a world beater and is capable of beating Dennis. However, alternate break, anything can happen, I guess.

That is a nice scoreboard!

I figured you were catching up on your sleep. I remember the day before, you had mentioned how tired you were, trying to stay awake for the results. :p

I wonder if Dennis is going to make it past the Brit.

Who is "Matt Edwards"? Wow, he was disqualified, giving his opponent a free win.

Imagine traveling around the world to this tournament, only to get disqualified.

I am sure there is a good reason, but WOW is all I can say.

The scorekeeper is keeping up with his performance yesterday by delaying the posting of the scores.

Dennis' score has been stuck at 5 to 3, with Gray in the lead, for a long time now. This really sucks.

Mark Gray's profile HERE
In the last 5 Eurotour stops, Mark won once, was three times third and 17th once. These results put him number one of the European ranking !
I guess Mark Gray is one of the favorites for this 8 ball WPC. Orcullo has to take him seriously...

If it is the same system as the Eurotour, that's the players themselves who have to update the score on a laptop...
