Any tournaments tonight???

Thanks

I don't know about any tournaments, but you'll find some action there if that what you're looking for.

Joe Jost

I definately 2nd Hot Shots but if your on Long Beach there is a very cool bar on Anaheim street called Joe Jost they have a 5x10 snooker table and a few 9' tables. It's a very cool place been there for years

have fun

Racke'm is a little place you can practice and/or get some action on Friday/Saturday night.

Ha. Alabama. Gotta love that one Frank. Hope you get back here at some point.........

The tables at Yankees' are just about the worst tables that I have ever played on............

Yikes!! I haven't been there in a long time but when I did play there, the tables were more than acceptable. Sorry to hear things have gone to heck over there.:(

Yankee Doodle's recovered their tables. No more blue masking tape! Joe Jost's is great during the day but mostly for Joe Jost's Special, Schooners of beer and pickled eggs with pretzels. Iffy neighborhood at night. Why not Hard Times with freeway proximity?

I'd say go to Hard Times, but you guy's talking about Joe Jost's sure brings
back the memories. It was around 1998 I was at Joe's. After five scooners
of PBR and a dozen pickled egg's I had enough.:barf:
Thanks for the memories,
Branko

After lunch today, I paid a visit to the Hot Shots in Cypress, Joe Jost in Long Beach and Rack'em Billiards in Carson.

Hot Shots is mainly a Vietnamese/Chinese place and all their tables are 4-1/2 x 9's. They have tournaments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and in-house leagues on Wednesdays. No snooker tables. The manager lady seemed very nice and friendly. Good area, wide roads and plenty of parking. Only five minutes from where I live.

Joe Jost is excellent for food, especially sandwiches and was packed. Mixed community but mostly white. They have two regular tables 4-1/2 x 9 and one 6x12 snooker table where golf is mostly played by bunch of regulars (as per the bartender). The table was locked down due to some party and not much room to play around. The place is located in a semi-rough area, narrow lanes and busy street.

Rack'em was closed around 2:30pm. Will visit them tonight and update.

Has anyone been to The Lounge off of Beach Blvd. (cross street Chapman) in Stanton/Garden Grove, CA?

Did visit them later that afternoon after calling them. Mainly fillipinos. There are I believe six 10 footers and all were in fairly decent condition but not that great. Played some practice games for about an hour with the manager/owner. Good players though but unlike Hot Shots where there are twice as many 10 footers with decent tables, mixed community and by far better players having regular weekly and end-of-month tournaments, including their in-house leagues. No snooker tables but did mention about it and hopefully they will consider. The owners of Hot Shots (Vietnamese) are very nice with whom I played a lot of friendly games.

If you do barbox you might want to try the tournaments at Barts Pub on Knott & Orangewood between Lampson & Chapman. Tues. & Sunday Strong field.
There is also another hall east of Knott on Katella forgot the name. Rack something??
Jonhnnys Lounge is mostly Asian.

I would say Hard Times tournament side for practice on some nice tables, but more of a strong recommendation for Hot Shots. The owner, Terry, if quite friendly and will definitely set you up with some friendly action (if so desired). Pretty decent food for a pool hall too.
