Long Cues In Custom Cases

I am newer and I would guess this topic has been bombarded off and on.

I have custom cues that are longer than normal. I have one shaft that is 30.5". I also have a butt that including the full butt, bumper to the tip of the joint is 30 and 7/8". I have a flowers case that just barely fits the butt. It fits without any issue, but just barely.

I love the case, but am looking at picking up whitten.

I know the It's George case will comfortably fit the long butt. I am guess it tops out at 31".


Does anyone have the specs to lengths and fits for Flowers, GTF, Whittens, Justis, Its George, etc.

As long as the butt or shafts do not exceed 31-1/4" OAL they will fit in our case.
 
I carry my 60" Cues in a Talisman 3x5 Case ... Even with Joint Protectors there
is still plenty of extra room to close the lid.
 
thanks for the replies everyone... I had alot of hesitation about buying cases just because of that issue. Thanks for clearing things up. Has anyone ever heard of low profile jp's? just wondering if there were any out there.

Yes, I've seen joint protectors that are drilled all the way through. So the joint pin is visible at the top of the jp and the jp need not be any longer than the joint pin. Sorry, but I don't know any reference to give you for those.

In theory, I guess most any cue maker or cue repair person could take an existing jp and turn off the end (shorten it) to make it the same length as, or just slightly longer than, the joint pin.
 
For standard-length Whitten cases, the capacity for their current cases is stated on their web site as 31" for both butts and shafts.

For older Whitten cases, the standard capacities were stated as 30 1/2" for shafts and 30 3/4" for butts, but a butt with an overall length of 31" still fits.
 
2 comments on this post. . .First, the casemakers discussed are best approached directly about this as their cases are custom. I am not a case maker, but I would guess that their tubes are probably ordered at something like 35" and cut to your request, or they buy them at nominal length with an option to go longer. So, if I had a cue with a 33" butt and 2" JP's, I would PM the maker of choice and ask about it. I think this has been said.

Second, I'm not sure about low profile JP's, but again, these arre readily available as a custom. I'm sure one could be made with a hole in the top so it added no length to the cue.

JB Cases are set up to fit 28.5 - 31.5" parts equally.

J.Flowers Cases fit 31" inch parts.

Most Sterling Cases - fit 31.5" inch parts.

GTF fits 31" parts.

Any of these cases can be made longer at no extra charge if ordered custom.
 
Any case maker can create a custom case for whatever length cue you have. Its just a matter of placing that order.

The flowers tribute case I bought is incredible.
 
The Dennis Swift envelope case I got fits a 32'' or very close to that. I had the same problem as you, when I got a 60'' cue, Swift case worked for me:wink:
