Long over due...my sincerest appologies

You'll have to forgive me if this seems disjointed, but I really don't know where to start. Back in March, during the Expo at Valley Forge, I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by what I consider to be the absolute finest people in this forum, cue making, and the rest of the billiards world. I collected deposits for a dinner at Sullivan's, and I have yet to get them back into the hands of those who contributed them. My life has been just a step above Hell since March...and to be honest, it didn't even occur to me that I hadn't sent everyone's deposits back until sometime in May. By then, I can honestly say with all that went on, I didn't have the money to repay. I was/am beyond embarassed. I can't even describe to you the way I felt...or feel now as I admit to this. I've been taking care of my mother for months now, and it necessitated walking away from a job that paid me quite handsomely. I'm living a type of life right now I'm totally unaccustomed to and it's beyond humbling. I don't expect anyone whom I owe to forgive what's been done, or to even try and understand what I'm going through. I got myself in this spot. I hope that I haven't left anyone in a tight spot with what I owe them. I PROMISE YOU...I will make good to everyone I owe, come hell or high water. I can't give you a time frame on this, however. You're going to have to instill a little more faith in me than you may have already. It won't go unrewarded. If it's my last act on the face of God's green earth, I'll make good.

In closing, I hope that this hasn't taken away from anyone's experience that evening...and I still hope it's something everyone would pull together to do again in the future. I'd hate to think my lack of foresight in this instance would deter such a fabulous group of people from taking part in something like that.

I can't really say anything more than "I'm sorry." And if that's not good enough for some, I certainly have no right to hold it against you. I'd like to think that over the years, I've been a pretty good citizen on this forum...and I don't think I'm a bad guy in person. I just ran into a brick wall, and I dealt with it poorly.

Sincerely, Hayden McCall

Hayden, I believe that I layed out a deposit for an entire table. I was kinda wondering what happened to it.

We had a great time at dinner and you did a wonderfull job organizing it. Very unhappy to hear your having hard times. I will take you at your word, and wait until you are able to send the deposit back.

Hope things get better for you soon, my friend

Steve, if I recall correctly, you made a deposit for 6. I should be able to go to PayPal and dig up the records from last October when the first deposit was made, and be able to refund everyone directly from there.

To all concerned, please don't hesitate to remind me who I owe, and how much. I don't want to miss anyone. I want to make sure everyone gets taken care of.

I appreciate the kind words. It was a pleasure meeting you. I'd hate to lose the trust of an individual such as yourself. I respect you very much.

No problem, I had a great time. Thank you for putting it together, it was a pleasure to meet everyone.

I reserved for two, and I think I brought 3?

I guess I assumed it went towards the bill? Take your time.

Hayden.....my big brother!! Anyone who knows you, knows you will make good on this. I had a hell of a time at the dinner and Steve was correct, you did an extraordinary job bringing together many AZ members. I was certainly glad to see your pm the other day but am saddened by your story. Don't worry about my deposit. Get yourself right first and before you know it we'll be back at the Conshohocken ballet!!!

Hayden. No hurry on my end. I figured you sent them out and overlooked mine. I was just planning on reminding you when you set up the dinner for next march. (assuming you were doing it again) It sounds as though you may not be able to go next time unless something changes. I had a great evening at the dinner with fantastic company. I would very much like to go again if someone has time to organize it.
I know my mother is one of the very most important people in my life and I assume yours is to you. I do not want the money back. I want you to buy her some flowers for me this weekend instead. Do that and consider us square. Chris.

Great thread

I was not a Valley Forge but Chris Byrne told me some of the stories and all of the fine people he met there. I would have loved to be there.

Recently coming back to AZ from the depths of hell myself, I can relate to making a few amends.

In your case I doubt anyone was losing any sleep over it but I think starting this thread was a very brave thing to do.

Peace & good karma

It takes a man to step up in the wide-open like this, sir. Well done.

I hope things take a turn for the better for you and your mom.

Best regards.

John, I miss you more than you can possibly imagine. I haven't met anyone like you across my entire lifetime. I had an absolute blast hangin' out with you for the couple weeks you were back...and when you went back to Afghanistan, I felt a bit of emptiness. Can't wait to see you again, my friend.

I appreciate the sentiment Chris. Truly I do. I'm glad you had a great time. I definitely plan on doing this again next year. The use of a deposit will most certainly not be required next time. The folks at Sullivan's actually called me a couple weeks ago and asked if they could expect our company again next year. My mom's everything to me. I'm an only child and my parents divorced when I was 7. When they're gone, that's it for me. They are the entirety of what I call family, bloodwise. Fortunately I have this family too. I don't think anyone realized how much it meant for ME, to be able to bring so many names together under one roof so we could enjoy one anothers company.

Well...I don't know if it was brave...but it was the right thing to do. Should have done it sooner but...I was just so embarassed. I just didn't really know what to do. :frown: I don't like owing people money. Never have. I've always been a very proud person and hate asking for help...even to a detriment. I just hope everyone knows I'll make this right when I can, whenever that opportunity presents itself.
I was not there nor a part of it. But this act is worth a praise. God bless.

Thank you, Mark.

Hayden my brother, I'd honestly forgotten all about it. Had a great time BTW.

Mine was only for one, but you can keep it. Sounds like you could use it way more than me right now. I hope things get better soon!
Thank you. It was a pleasure meeting you in March. It will be a pleasure bumping into you again in the future too.

Oh by the way...anyone here have Tony Scianella's contact information?
John (runout) and myself would like a short word. LOL

I wasnt involved, I had to stay in Vegas opening up a biz-that I just shut down.

Hardtimes are here for alot of people, being a stand up guy, as you are in this thread is very honerable. people cutting you slack is as honerable.

Life is hard, I hope things work out for you, I spent about $150,000 on care for my mom(however I was making $$ at the time, but thatn not the point here), I'm proud of that, I'm proud that I made her comfortable as I could-that was #1 on my list, looking back I would have gone flat broke to comfort her. Thats the most important thing here, being honerable is a distant 2nd. Your both, and have my respect. I hope others will forgive what ever debt there is(i have no clue) its the right thing to do. We all gotta stick together sometimes.

best

Thanks for the sentiments Eric. My mom's everything to me. I'm an only child and my parents divorced when I was 7. My parents are all I have. I'm going to Pittsburgh this weekend to see my dad at a family reunion. It'll be the first time I've seen him in a couple years. I've tried being honorable throughout my life, although I can honestly say I haven't succeeded at every turn. This community has been very good to me. I've had the good fortune of meeting a lot of wonderful people, and that night at Sullivan's was the pinnacle of my experience here at AZ. I've never been surrounded by a group of better people than I was that night.

I definitely plan on doing this again this upcoming March.

i'm a only child too, and only have a 85 yr old uncle left, so my friends are MUCH more important to me than people think, they just dont understand how lonely it is with no family. I wish I had a giant family and a reunion to go to every year.

there are some great people here, and i sincerly appericcate them and their friendship, moreso than they think in some cases, some understand. There is one person in pool(he dosent post here, he plays pretty good) that is like a brother to me, and that sure is nice. He understands.

so on that niote thanks everyone, and this year I hope in March I will be free, the past 2 years I couldnt go :( . If things work out for me, dinner will be on Fatboy-I got a couple big things going, both look solid. I hope they happen, so I can take everyone out. if neither of them come in then were going to have to take up a collecion for my air fare.

best
