Longer Cues for Taller Players?

Mystic Cues

I bought a Mystick cue from Jack Kompan out of San Antonio a couple of years ago. Its 60". I'm 6'1". I was using a AE cue as my player before that and immediately started using the longer cue. I can reach more balls on the table and don't have to use a bridge to get at most of them.

I left my cue at the pool hall last week and of course nobody saw it. So I went back to playing with my AE and it just felt like a kiddy stick at that point. I don't think I'll ever go back to a short stick again.

All of my playing cues are 60 inches. 30 inch butt and 30 inch shafts for balance. It was the best decision I made regarding equipment some 14 years ago.

Porper makes cases to hold 60inch cues and some longer.
My old Instroke Case will hold some 60 inch cues with out joint protectors.

I am very happy with the case Jack Justis built for me with the 2 inch overlegnth to hold my 60" cues with joint protectors.

Went looking for a case for my 61" cue. Found one in a Billiard store in a very small N Texas town in the middle of nowhere. The owner said he is getting alot of calls for 60" cues, but dosen't have a supplier who will build them for a price people will pay. I had a 59.5" cue I was making for a Christmas present that wasen't finished yet. He ask what I would take for it when done. Now I have to finish another stick before Christmas or my brother-in-law will have to go without. Never thought the first stick I would ever sell would go to a dealer. Looks like there is a market for longer sticks, if people will build them. Now someone needs to make longer cases.

You can always go the custom route like a nice Whitten!!

I'm 6/6 and tried a 60", didn't work for me, 58 or less works fine. Mizerack I think used a 62. I don't think there's any perfect size for you until you've played for years and make a change and that change will tell you if its right for you or not. There's no majic bullet in pool other than practicing and learing/reading and competition.

I'm 6'2" and my player is 61". (Cue can be seen in wrapless gallery) I have a good friend who is also around 6'2" who asked me to build a 63" wrapless for him. I thought it would be too long, but I built it for him. You can't get that cue away from him. He says its the best cue for him he has ever had. He is the past Hawaii state 9 ball champ.
Both cues are evenly split between shaft and butt. My 61" is 30.5" each and the 63" is 31.5" each.
I love mine. He loves his. Thats what really counts, and they both play great with very solid hit. The 63" seems to have a bit less deflection.

I'm 6'2" and play with a 59" cue. A longer cue fits me better, but they just don't play as good. I have a 60" Gus that plays great, but its too valuable to travel with.

I had a 64" Gus, but it was just too long.

Im 6/5 I play with a 61 inch cue. there are alot of times i wish i could have a longer cue. my butt is 31 my shaft is 30. my shaft is a pred 314-2. they don't make them any longer then 30.

my question for all you tall guys is who makes the best shaft that is 31 or 32 inchs. that might be similar to my predator. any thoughts would be great.

I am 6'1" and I know I need a longer cue an extra two inches would be ideal. I already have two OB1 shafts for a mcdermott but have no idea how long they are just that they need to be two inches longer. I never really think about it to much when I am playing just when I get on AZ and see this thread. Well I wrote it on my hand so I wont forget!
