I'm also gonna say probably not, but it'll be cheap to replace the cracked ferrule.....

If I wanted to prevent it from cracking I would make a pad between the tip and Coco with the tennon built into it all the way to the shaft. JMO

I think if you sleeved it over phenolic and used a fiber pad under the tip, it would have a much better chance at survival.

I've made dozens of wooden ferrules, starting in 1986. NONE of them have failed. I would trim the tip height though. Any off-center hit will put enough side pressure to pop the tip off. I take the ferrule diameter & maltiply by .350. That's the height of my tip shoulder...JER

I don't see an advantage to using it but it will stand up ok...I kind like the look :)
None of the ones I've done(6) have comeback.

Ehhhh my guess is yes for a awhile at least but not forever, Also the G10 pin is going to cause flex in the cue. I'm not sure if this would be optimal for transference of energy.

I have tried several materials for break ferrules. Some didn't feel right, some were too soft, and some broke. I always come back to phenolic. I have even seen phenolic break but it feels the best and breaks the hardest.

A pad under the tip defeats the purpose of a hard break tip.
