anyone got any video,s or links of walter glass back in the days or any video i seen him shoot in vegas last week an i wanna watch more i heard he was the bomb back then

I'd be surprised if there were any old videos of Walter.

He dominated Las Vegas pool for many years. In the 80's many road players would come through Vegas and knew they could get a game with Walter. Very straight shooter in his day and played all the games very well, except for maybe 1-Pocket.

I remember when Walter Glass came from the Carolina's to Texas, this was late 70's, 79 maybe.

My brother Calvin had been out there one summer around Myrtle Beach, Calvin won the State 9-Ball tournament up in Greenville I believe it was, played Nick Varner in the finale, the trophy is in the old poolroom there in Myrtle Beach.

Calvin brought back Little Johnny Morrell at the end of that summer in late 70's , we hung around Longview,Tx. for a long time, and then Walter Glass showed up, Calvin had told him the action was good in Texas, I remember Walter Glass and Earl Kellum matched up at the Talley Hoe and played for about two days and broke even.

Walter always played real good, he was one notch or so below a Champion back then, he was fond of the horses, we hit the track a few times, so he stayed broke betting ponies that time of the year, but pumped up good too in the bars, just to lose at the track.

There wasn't much video back then unless you were on TV.

I could have been a zillionaire! I might have been the only pool player alive that was ahead on the ponies. Still ahead at the track, made the mistake of buying some just before the little early eighties recession that lasted fourteen years or so. I got that lesson about buying anything that eats, and eats, and eats, and eats. The math looked good until the value of yearlings fell 90%!!

Scott,

I would like to see you again. Let's try to make a point of it when you pass through.
