Lookin for Serious Sponsor

It was a simple question. This is a public forum.

For that matter, I don't know why you are getting so heated and condescending, Ray. It's as if you feel empowered to talk like you are holier than thou.

Eric

Sorry to see Eric banned for his questions. They were not questions worthy of being banned, IMO.

And believe me, I am not a huge fan or friend of Eric; however, he does tell it (or ask it in this case), like it is. Nothing wrong with honesty in a forum.

I honestly belive that Eric is one of the most straightforward people that I have ever seen on this forum. He will capitulate when he is wrong, but most times he is right, or at least honest with his questions/answers.

Agreed. I was surprised to see him banned for asking a few questions, which seemed pretty innocuous to me. If everyone who offers unsolicited advice is banned, there would be no one left around here.

Who reports posts like Eric's? Who does that sort of thing?

His questions in this thread were merely the last straw.

He'd been warned many times previously.

How many times have I warned you Thaiger?

It isn't always a giant error...sometimes, just the multitude finally reaches a tipping point.

Reporting posts has little to do with them getting banned.

Badgering a person with disabilities in public is despicable. If Eric was really interested in what keeps Robley from securing a regular job he could of PM'd him. Even so it doesn't mean Robley would share anything with someone who had no intention of helping.

disability 101 for dummies

Ok, here's my take. I am the parent of a child with intelectual disabilities. He graduated high school. He lives on his own. He is on disability and can't work. He wants to. Bad... I support his every effort and try to keep his dreams alive. My long time GF has a 16 yr old girl with Down Syndrome. My GF is a very, very involved advocate for the disabled and has pioneered many programs for disabled children in our area that were not previously available to them. So i believe i know quite a bit about this subject.
Most people with both physical or mental disabilities want to work. Most want to lead "normal lives" like you and me. Its funny how people who have never been involved with people with a disability don't understand this. And then they feel the need to "question" their motivations...
I'll give you a little insight here. Most people with disabilities have huge medical expenses. On going medical and medication expenses that never end. Through disability they get medical care and the meds which they cannot live without. Even if you could work a real money job you can't find a job making enough money to cover these huge expenses and if you could it would cut off your disability and your medical. So they are kind of stuck and with lack of any real funds and cannot follow their dreams.
Oh, i also know lots of people who disabled and do work. Here they are allowed to make around 1.25 an hour before it affects their benefits. I believe the last approved job my son had he worked 4-8 hour days a week, and cleared about 48 dollars a week... We won't even go into them not being allowed to save back money without that cutting off their benefits too..
These are just one of the hundreds of obstructions these folks face in trying to gain employment. There are also hundreds of hoops they have to jump through in order to keep their benefits.
As for Eric he could have easily googled any questions he had without posting in this thread. He is a ignorant tool and was obviously badgering in this thread. So don't try to gloss it over like he was asking "honest" questions. Truck called him out for what he is...
The fact that Robley can play pool at a high level is a great thing and should be supported by all who can. I'll say one thing, there are some really fine folks on here and we should all be proud of this community as a whole.
Keep following your dreams Robley, keep asking when you need help, and don't be afraid of the stupid people out there.

I got a TNT sneaky pete, full splice made with Tulip wood and Maple, and has a Moori med tip and has a G10 glass pin as well. American made cue and hits pretty good. It's a nice cue that I just don't use anymore.

It is about 2 years old, with little play. If you want it, its yours. I'll send it your way so you can get use to it before the tourney !!

Let me know, see ya, RJ

well, good thing your opinion does not count then :) Telling it like is is does not get you very far in life if you are married, have kids, have neighbors, have a boss, have friends, etc, etc.... And certainly not with a person with some disabilities that Eric could NOt possibly know the full extent of....

I'm one of the most conservative guys in NPR, well, behind LWW, UGO, and Slide Rule, of course :) But certainly does NOT mean charity is a bad word, and nothing wroing with lending a hand to someone who had some bad luck in his life, and only wants to play some pool .....
