Hope to see you at Chris's Tournament.
Bump! Go get 'em Robley...and may a better cue head your way!
I was just thinking which can be dangerous from time to time but down the road 2 or 3 months maybe I could take you on the road for a couple of weeks to show you what it's all about.
Just a thought. Nothin for sure.
But one thing would be for sure. You would definitely learn something.
Good luck in your tournament.
Yea that would be awsome. i would be up for that... bad part is i wouldent have the cash for it.. maybe i could get sponsored for it... don.t know just a thought ..
Instead of going on the road with no money, have you considered trying to find a job? Just sayin'
Eric >knows I'm gonna get flamed for this
Easy to say by an able bodied man. Even if Robley didn't have Spina Bifida it is still very slim pickins for jobs right now.
The same could be said for many pool players about the road, but Robley is only trying to get 30 miles to Lafayette. He has no vehicle and no one in his family is able to help.
I can say this. Robley has really blossomed over the last few years. The help he has received from the AZ family has given him a chance to embrace something that he is really good at, pool. Unfortunately he faces the same challenges that many of us face in pool, lack of meaningful opportunities.
Until we can offer and end to the means, pool as a career is going nowhere.
Best of luck to Robley at White Diamonds! I hope he snaps it off!
Ray
OK, lets play devils advocate.
It's obvious that Robley is physically able to play Pool and travel. Is there not one single job in this country that he would be able to work at? If so, he wouldn't need to ask for people to constantly fund his entertainment expenses, right?
Eric
Every pool player in the country is constantly asking people to fund their "entertainment" as you put it. Why don't you start a thread asking them why they don't go and get a job instead of picking on one that we like to help...... Or would you like us to list out all of Robley's challenges that he faces with his disability so you will be comfortable in the knowledge others are helping?
It's really simple. Get involved or move on. Of course we all know you have no intention of helping anyone.
Ray
Just because you make accusatory statements that are meant to elicit false shame and guilt on someone, doesn't make this more noble or deserving. The original reasons you threw up are not necessarily relevant, here i.e. "every other pool player...". Every other poolplayer isn't playing on a disability to get the charity either.
I understand that Robley is disabled. Then again, because he is disabled, can no one ever question or ask about anything that is in this thread? If so, then this doesn't belong on a public forum.
For that matter, I asked a simple question which you sidestepped twice.
Eric
No one will or should put all of the details of why Robley can't hold a regular job on a public forum. It's certainly non of your business.
Did you want to chip in? If not...move along please.
Ray
It was a simple question. This is a public forum.
For that matter, I don't know why you are getting so heated and condescending, Ray. It's as if you feel empowered to talk like you are holier than thou.
Eric

Eric
You are the one here who is demanding an explanation why a handicapped person can't get a job. One of us is certainly sounding hollier than thou, but it aint me.
Ray
Again, it was a simple question. One that most certainly is not highly sensitive. If one were to apply for a charitable grant, you would have to answer much more intrusive questions than that.
You come across as condescending and talking out of school because this doens't involve you, Ray. You seem to have taken it upon yourself to smite anyone that doesn't blindly follow and cheer your pet cause on.
