I live in northern Wv, about 35 miles from Pittsburgh Pa and I am looking for a real instructor, not a guy who can just beat me in a game. My APA operator cant seem to find anyone, Anyone have some ideas?

I'd suggest the Bushwhacker! State College, PA I do believe.

Gary Nolan is his name and be very careful, he has amazing cues for sale too!

Bushwacker is def the person you want to talk to. He's actually located in Indiana, PA. His room is called Lucky Billiards and it's right on main street in Indiana.

I know that place! I shot there a few times when I was in college, I had no idea he was anything more than the owner! He is a cool guy, Thanks for the info!

Eh, what the hell do I know?! I went up there once and they made my head spin with the cash stacked on the table 6" hi and 12" wide and the unposted rules and the straight shooting and the hotel a million miles away and the wrong turn I made and the tasty Yuengling and the college kids and the bars next door...

I loved it all.

Uhh, yeah. Bushwacker is hard to beat for some power pool smarts.

Gary use to play in my poolroom on Long Island (East Islip Billiards) in the 1970's. Nice guy. Johnnyt

check out the BCA site. U might find what ur lookin for, also if u want to email me some problems u have maybe I can help, my website is Playpoolnj.com , my email is there

AndyB...You have to decide if you want a pro player or a pro instructor. They are two different things. If you're looking for an instructor, I will come to you in WV. If you're looking for a pro player, you don't have to look any further than Wheeling. John Schmidt just opened up a new poolroom there.

I've heard Schmitty is a pretty good instructor. I think it would depend on what you are looking for. Some may not be the best at teaching fundamentals, but if I were looking for game insight and strategy I would definitely go see John. Not saying he wouldn't teach fundamentals, I don't know, but I know he can get down on how to play the game.

brandoncook26...I agree completely.

I thank all of you for your info, its not exactly fundamentals i need to learn. Im a pretty decent player, its the banking and kicking i need LOTS of work on. And my mental game, as soon as I see im playing someone who is good I get extremely nervous and I have no clue why! I think wheeling is going to be my best bet.I would again like to thank all of you for all of your input!
