Looking for a few good men (or women) and locations nationwide!

Sandmans’ “If pool is to make a comeback, it will be through organized
professionalism infused with class”
will still play the larger part of his next new
successful venture here.
Myself, I’m jazzed about it, love the snooker bin pockets, I like’n them as the” gatekeepers”.

Thank you Dan. I work around the clock (well, 18 hours a day) for the betterment of the sport as a whole here in the US and dream of us being on top once again.

Mosconi Cup USA over Europe, World of Snooker, 3 cushion, Pocket Billiards WHATEVER. We need to raise the bar and be in the running once again.

It is kind words, support such as yours, and positive vibes that will ban us all together to move forward and upward. Thank you!

You may, or possibly may not know who Ed (The Sandman) is but I can assure you his complete focus is on bettering our sport here in America.

I think it's perfectly okay to disagree with someone's ideas but I would strongly encourage you to appreciate what Ed has done in the past and the fact that he is a really good guy with lots of good intentions.

best,
brian kc

Thank you very much Brian! Your continuous support and positive reinforcement is so greatly appreciated my friend. This is all I need to keep fueling me and restoring my faith in our billiards community to keep pushing on forward. We all have to work together and do our parts to ultimately bring this game up to be recognized as a sport.

You know the old saying...."lead by example" right, so how many of these Chinese 8 ball tables do you have in YOUR pool room....6...8....12?

By the way, I also feature 3 Diamond tables in my room as well. Should I not offer those to my customers to practice on for Diamond events? Shall I discontinue featuring a Diamond table on the majority of my online streams that I don't get any compensation for? Hmmmmm I didn't think so.

Please stay on topic my friend.

I respect you as one of the best table mechanics in the country.

Don't make me lose respect for you as an individual.

Thank you Glenn.

One right now and soon to be a second one. How many will YOU get?

All you need is 1 or 2 to feature in your favorite location just like a 3 cushion table or a snooker table to offer choices to your clientele to enjoy and possibly offer opportunities for them to compete and get a free ride to a major event to win big bucks.

I've already made it possible for an American player to go to China ALL EXPENSES PAID - EVEN MEALS. I want to send even MORE! You obviously do not do your homework Glenn.

What will YOU do for all of American players this year? What HAVE you EVER done for American players as a whole, without any profit for yourself?

THAT'S WHO I'M looking for. People that actually DO THINGS for others in this game out of the kindness of their heart or their love for the game - Not just throw their 2 cents in to feel special or promote their own agendas.

PS,
No disrespect but, do you have any intelligent productive thoughts to add to the TOPIC of this thread? If not, go away. I will not get into a childish and immature pissing contest with anyone.

Where have all the productive pool people gone?

Wow....I guess I asked the wrong question didn't I.....LOL but I have to say, being in this industry a lot longer than you have...1 Chinese 8 ball table in house I'd nothing more than a novelty table to test the waters to see if theirs any real money in having them in house. If you fully and truly believed in Chinese 8 ball being successful....all your tables would be from China. Tell me Ed, how quick were you to point out to them....if they just copy the Diamond tables they could sell them much easier here in the US, and by switching from Chinese 8 ball to American....no, make that world 9 and 10 ball....look at all the players they could bring to China then!!! No, the problem with this sport here in this country IS the mentality of the room owners and promoters for the most part. No one wants to work together for a common goal and that goal is to come together not as one pool room here and another over there in competition with each other....but rather 1500 pool room owners around the world all on the same sheet of music to bring organization to this sport. No, your idea is to throw everything out and start over again on the Chinese 8 ball band wagon. I for one won't cry a single tear when the day comes.....shortly....that importing Chinese built pool tables become way to expensive to bring into this country....and we get back to building real pool tables again.

Sandman,

This is why I rarely post in this section. So much hatred. I could understand legit questions, constructive criticisms, etc...But there's quite a bit of blind hatred.

Just keep on doing what you're doing. I wish you the best.

Raise.

No hatred intended, just stating the facts. If Ed switched out all his old beat GCS and Medalist tables out for all new Chinese 8 ball tables....he'd be out of business from lack of customers within 60 days....take that to the bank!.... last time I checked were weren't living in China in the middle of 3 billion people to pull customers from.

I do not know him personally, but have heard of him. I do not feel I was rude, only conveying my feelings . I do not doubt he has done stuff to help pool. With Joy, I see this purely as an economic oppritunity. We all have seen their massive campaigns targeted at the untouched ( for them ) market - SVB, now this etc. I see this just like the APA, expanding areas with local operators and what not but this is ground floor for them with plenty of money to be made. So in this instance, I feel as if this is financially driven, while at the expense of American companies to varying degrees.

China already owns so much of the US - Realing estate, bonds, loans and on and on and this would be another tiny piece of the puzzle. As someone mention with free enterprise, I agree to torally and I chose to support American - Diamomd, Brunswick and any other American companies.

On top of that I really have no interest in Chinese 8 ball. Heck, I don't even really lo,email American 8 ball lol!

You want a real good example....snooker has made millionaires out of their world championship players....way more money paid out than all the Chinese 8 ball champions combined have earned....and yet, there's no snooker pool rooms left anywhere in this country....why is that?....because Americans don't care about playing snooker, just like they don't care about Chinese 8 ball....but I do understand there's a dozen or so players that want to play on that front as well.....only even they don't want to fork out the money to buy a Chinese 8 ball table....but a dumb pool room owner will listen to 6 or 8 customers telling them that if they had one of those Chinese 8 ball tables in house.....they promise they'd play the hell out of it....at least for a little while anyway....LOL....and of course the room owner thinks he's found a new gold mine....LMAO

No one is taking the king pimp of overpriced Diamond tables on here. Johnnyt

Wow! Glenn, you're STILL missing the point of this endeavor (and topic).

It is NOT to replace our tables here. It is to simply offer opportunity to players all across the nation TOGETHER. I'm looking for 15-16 locations across the country to host 4 qualifiers a year each and profit from them all around. All they need is to feature 1 or 2 tables. They will make money, regional coordinators will make money AND OUR PLAYERS will make money. That's all. If THAT (Maybe 20 total Joy tables in all of the USA) is a threat to you, the problem is internal insecurity of your product.

This is NOT a movement to get Joy tables replacing any American brands.

This IS a nationwide movement to RAISE the LEVEL of play of 8 Ball in America and offering opportunities for everyone and anyone to reap the benefits of.

Now, I've answered all your off-topic inquiries. ANSWER MINE;

How many players have you or will YOU sponsor?
How many players have you put up in your HOME when they had no place to go?
How many tables did you DONATE to charity organizations?
How many years have you put in 18 hour days for NO pay? (I have 10 years straight.) Being around and being PRODUCTIVE are 2 different things.
How many Joy tables will YOU showcase? (Since you're so interested in how many I already have)

We all know the answers. Don't embarrass yourself any more than you already have here.

Next time you're traveling through my area chasing money and work, DO NOT ask me to plug in to my electricity or use some work space as you did before.

It amazes me on how many TAKERS in life take advantage of GIVERS for their own benefit and then have the audacity to TRASH their efforts afterwards, even when it has NOTHING to do with them. It's absolutely disgusting. Just leave this thread alone. You've been disrespectful and selfish enough as is. If you reply with any more negativity or off topic replies you will really be embarrassing yourself and a very poor representative of Diamond as well. I have a healthy and happy relationship with Diamond at this point. Don't ruin it or disgrace them.

You were not rude at all. I'm not easily offended buddy. I appreciate and welcome everyone's valid views. The game is still traditional 8-Ball simply played on a harder piece of equipment. I share your very same feelings about "bar box" tables. I call that "miniature pool" as a spade is a spade. A miniature version of the regulation size table and game. However, I truly believe offering all types of opportunities to OUR players to raise their game to the next level is beneficial to ALL games played globally.

Imagine Alex Pagulayan never playing snooker because he couldn't find a snooker table anywhere in Canada or the Philippines. He wouldn't have certain skills he possesses now.

What if Efren Reyes never played 3 Cushion Billiards? No championships there?
He wouldn't have adopted certain strategies of position play from it into his ever so creative style of play in rotation.

Anyhow, it's the same game just played on a tougher table. That's all. The name is misleading.

Please express yourself freely without prejudice.

That's ok, maybe when I'm up in your area parked in the back of one of the pool rooms near you, rebuilding their pool tables to new....I'll stop by and say hi....yes, I have the work waiting on me.

Thank you for you well spoken reply. Now; I don't need no damn tougher tables!!! I already have a tough enough time with 5.5 inch pockets with NO shelf!!!! Lol Seriously though ; as I always try to do, I will try to keep an open mind about this and as said earlier I do truly wish you good luck.

Raise.

Thank you so much Raise. I appreciate your encouragement. It's been over a year and a half since I posted here. Who knows if I ever will offer anything here again? The ignorance level is simply astounding. Does anyone have any comprehension skills here or have all the normal educated people left AZB? I refuse to allow ignorance ruin opportunity for the betterment of the game. I can fight fire with fire but they wouldn't really like that. They'd feel belittled and embarrassed. I just laugh at it. People who have lived before us and are wiser than us already experienced this kind of nonsense and created the cliche, "You can't argue with ignorance" for a reason - to try and spare us. LOL

Hahhahaha! 5.5 pockets and no shelf. I love it! I also offer lessons...

Thank you for your input once again. The tougher tables are for those ready to compete at an A class level or so. You will get there one day. Jut put your time into proper practice (not just playing games) but rather, drills, instruction and small competitions for your mental game as well.

Hope to see you at SBE. Do you go there?
