I bought a jacoby EDGE Hybrid shaft and currently have it atop my PLAYERS TECHNOLOGY butt. I am in the market for jacoby butt with (5/16 threads preferably 19 oz) so i can retire the players. The players cue was my very first cue. bought it when i started playing pool 3 yrs ago. I purchased the jacoby shaft after playing with a friends jacoby. any help acquiring this would be greatly appreciated

Threads are measured in number per inch. 5/16 would be the diameter of the pin. So we don't know what size and thread count you actually want. I have a nice Jacoby for sale. The pin is 3/8 X 10.

Your Players butt has a 5/16x18 thread pin. Jacoby does not use that pin unless it is a special order. Meucci and Players are probably the most popular cues using that pin and the joint diameters are NOT exactly the same. You should consider buying a new or used Jacoby with the LD shaft and trading or selling your present cue. PM me if you have any interest in doing that.

Exactly what the previous poster said. Players cues are 5/16x18, and your going to be hard pressed to find a Jacoby with that pin size unless you get real lucky and find one that someone had custom made with it. Jacoby usually uses either radial or 5/16x14 pins in their cues..

Correct and they also do a 3/8 x 10 but you have to custom order that. I doubt they would even do a custom order 5/16 x 18. Its not even on the list of pin sizes they do.

i hate to tell you guys that you are wrong... BUT YOU ARE ALL WRONG!!! I already have the shaft, i watched John Stich, My friend, (The Rochester Mn and Las Vegas Pool tournaments table provider and Jacoby dealer) take the shaft off his own personal Jacoby at league one night and sell it to me on the spot, i even shot with it that night and have been for the last 5 months

They will do any pin size. That's not the point. The Players butt is not 5/16X14. I suppose its possible that the Jacoby butt could have a 5/16X18 pin, if someone ordered it that way. Count the tpi on your Players butt again. Its probably 18, not 14.

Not good...

You are too cocky for a guy that just chime in here.
JACOBY MAKES ONLY 5-16-14, 3/8-10 and RADIAL PINS BY DEFAULT!
YOU CAN ORDER ANY PIN...BUT BY DEFAULT ONLY THIS 3 WILL DO!

Learn to listen and don;t try to be the smartass where is not the place.

Just an advice...and a thought...

I'm not trying to get into a pissing match with you, but were not wrong. I am also a Jacoby dealer and talk to both Sarah's at Jacoby on a weekly basis, and David now and then also. I would say about 75%+ of the cues they make are made with Radial pins. The rest are 5/16x14, with a few 3/8x10 (though I haven't seen a 3/8x10 from them in awhile). I've even seen one with a Uniloc joint, but what I've NEVER seen was a 5/16x18 pin on a Jacoby. Now, i'm not saying they have never made one, i'm sure they probably have. But what I said was if they did, it was a CUSTOM ORDERED one, and you will be hard pressed to find one out there for sale for your shaft. They will custom make just about anything you ask of them without hesitation, that's one of the reasons they are such a great group of people, and very easy to work with. Good luck with your search though, it isn't my desire to get into an argument with you, I was merely trying to help with some information...

Jacoby cue

I have a killer vintage Jacoby B15 pool cue that is in excellent condition and has the original shaft. This cue is in the 2005 Blue Book Of Pool Cues back then valued at $825.00 for a 4 point Irish linen cue. My cue has 5 points and a flawless leather wrap. I am asking $400.00 firm plus the shipping. It is an incredible deal at this price and would go great with your new shaft. I used the edge shaft last year at state and it played great. I play with Diviney cues now and I collect the McDermott D-Series. Give me your email address and I can send you some pics.

Thanks,
Dan
