While that is a commendable piece of tooling..... for a few hundred more you could have a Hightower deluxe with a 1.4 head stock hole. steady rests and taper bars.

When I bought my minilathe it was 300 and extra lathe beds under 100=500
Hightower deluxe is 3000? I think for package#1
