I have been thinking of sponsoring a player (entry fee only) to play in the Joss Tour event at Turning Stone Casino in August. Player must not have cashed in any other Joss event. To Bad tanner press lives so far away. he would love this chance. So if you are interested, please let me know.........................................mike

Wow Mike!

That is a great gesture! I hope whomever you choose does well in the tournament.

Wow, Mike, that's an admirable gesture.

May I suggest 15 year old Mike Tosado of New York City?

Mike distinguished himself by giving Archer a pretty good run for his money at last year's World Summit of Pool.

He is a quality kid, and he has been making some nice progress with his game.

Needless to say, as a a high school student, he will probably be available in August.

That would be a fun event to play in with top notch players. It is good to see pool players helping out pool players.

Is there a particular reason you would want that all possible prospects NOT have cashed in any previous JOSS events?

Just curious as to why.

Mike, I was just wondering what is P.I.T.A.?

I don't have a particular reason why i would like someone who has not cashed. Don't even remember why i put that up there. other than the fact that maybe i want someone to play that might not be able to afford the whole thing. Thats why i stated that it would be for ENTRY FEE ONLY. I just thought it would give somebody a shot at playing with the big boys. I know that there are alot of players that would love to play but just cannot afford the whole thing..And let me further state that i am not looking for anything in return at all ..................mike

And the 1st winner is

Well i have made my 1st decision and picked a gentleman that i have never personally met. After reading his email i decided to go with him. My reasons, 1) he lives close to the venue
2) he already has a Joss Tour card. That saves me an aditional $50.00. without the card the entry fee would have been $200.00 instead of the $150.00 it did cost me. And his entry is paid.
The Winners name is Gary LLoyd and he is from Cato NY. so congratulations go out to Gary. Hit them good and give em all hell...

Now, i believe that i am going to do another one next month so i am still looking for someone that would want to play. I will pay the entry fee if they agree to pay the tour membership card. heck, it saves me $50.00 doing it this way...just send me a pm if interested........mike

a thought....Brent Boemmels....he is a local up-and-comer with no fear (16 years old) from the Cheshire, CT area. he played in the last Turning Stone event and has huge potential for such a youngster and all around great kid - I believe he is currently a B player and will soon be moved up to an A - if you are interested, let me know.

funny story before I go, he wanted to play a "name" in the last Turning Stone event and when he drew Howard Vikery he was disappointed because he didn't know who he was - we had a great laugh.

I would like to publicly thank Mike for his great generosity in choosing myself as one of his sponsored players. This chance will get me under the gun in an event I had all but made up my mind I would have to miss. Which after playing in February was a tough one to pass up. Mike Zuglan and staff of the Joss Tour put on a class act from the smaller week end stops to the $25,000.00 added Turning Stone Classics. I look forward to competing in August and once again...Mike...Thank You!

Gary

Gary....no thanks needed.. Just go knock em dead...And there will be another player picked by me in the next month........mike

I liek sjm's suggestion. I've played Michael Tosado on several occassions in tournament play and I have to say, he is an excellent player. His fundamentals are top notch. He studies every aspect of the table; looks at every possible option before shooting. This past weekend alone he played in a tournament and beat Gypsy (who had a solid run at the last Turningstone event) not once but twice.

cueball, are you still looking for another player? It looks like I am going to this event and I'd like to be considered.

Thank you

I do want to publicly thank "cueball1950" as he has generously extended an offer to help me with my entry fee to this event. Which I have graciously accepted.

I will do my best!
