Hey all,

Looking for a good tip for my Searing Jump/Break. Want to be able to jump/break/play with it. I was thinking WB or Sumo, but if anyone else has anything else they think would be a good candidate, let me know...maybe Hercules? I dunno...

Looking to buy a couple or so and install 'em. Thanks!

Talisman X-hard will as close as you'll find.

I was just lookin' at Talismans...

Do you think a WB hard would do the trick or do I really gotta step it up to X-hard Pro? I'm just worried about miscueing when I'm playing with it...
I currently play with a Moori S or M...

SUMO, SUMO, and Sumo...the non-layered one that starts off red before it's installed. It breaks almost as hard as the talisman x-hard, but plays so much better. I have both installed on two different cues.

You gotta give up something to get something...if you want it to actually jump, go with the x-hard pro. If you want it to play better than it jumps, then go with something else.;)
Edited to add: even with the x-hard, you'll not have even 50% of the jump performance of the phenolic type tips.

Churchill's quote applies to pool, as well. To continue the analogy, now you want one club for driving, chipping and putting?? Hmmmmm

What the sumo?? BS..i've never had one break off in chunks and I can break fairly hard. I have used sumo's for 1000+hours of pool.

Super Pro Layed Tips

Give the Super Pro layed water buffalo tips a try. They are hard enough to break with and still hold chalk well enough to play with. They probably don't jump as well as the phenolics, my jump cue has a White Diamond on it.

It's usually a miscue that does it... I've had it happen to more than one, which is why I won't use them anymore.

Somebody is going to have a bad experience with anything out there, regardless of what it is...

have had zero problems with sumo's on four cues now personally. As Ross said someone is always going to have a problem with every product.

I have a leather tip that I made for the IPT and Charlie Bryant last year. It did not mushroom after bring used by Charlie breaking till the 4th round into the IPT breaking 6 + hours straight everyday.

It is almost as hard as a phenolic. It is a very firm tip. I guarantee that it is easier to jump than the super pro or WB or whatever they are called. It is a leather tip, while displaying a strength very close to a phenolic tip. I am actually very proud to be able to come up with this tip, it is a shame that the IPT is up in the air now.

I can install it for you if you send it to me. Please email me if you are interested. My email address is info@xtremebilliard.com. I will not send just the tip out.

Regards,
Richard

Water Buffalo Saves The Day

Go with a Water buffalo............................................... I've been using them forever.

tip

I saw this year at our state tourney that the "repair guy" was doing a few WATER BUFFALO tips that were layered...I don't remember what he called them, but he claimed they were GREAT all around tips used for jumping and breaking especially...I just wish I'd have tried one to give you an honest opinion. Anyways, they looked nice!  :D lol
