I have no idea how you play either? Isn't that why they call it gambling? Race to 11 for $100 is a deal. I'll probably spend $1K to go to the WPC, considering travel, tickets, hotel, etc. I'll have to win 10 sets to break even.

Believe me, if I was a real player, you would have heard about me by now.

Okay, I finally broke down and made myself practice for one whole week. I have played about 15 hours in the last five days, and I'm starting to feel it again. Eureka, I can still play pool. I'm not just another pretty face anymore.

In case anyone thinks I'm all talk, now is your chance to find out. I play about 8-4 under the top One Pocket players, and probably the best 9-Ballers could give me the 5 ball. Once again I am a shortstop speed player and proud of it.

I am looking for some cheap action around the L.A. area just to get in good stroke. I know I need to play someone now and test myself. Hell, if Billy can still play, why not Jay. He's about a 100 years older than me.

I am not looking to play any $1,000 sets yet, just some 40 or 50 a game One Hole or $100 to $200 a set 9-Ball. You might talk me into betting 50 a rack Banks (short rack) or 100 a rack (long rack) Banks. NO ONE in L.A. is barred from playing me Banks. NO ONE! (except Parica).

If you are a very good player, I am not embarassed to ask for weight (Wayne this means you). But I only want a fair game, not the nuts. One Pocket Rich gave me 8-7 and the break a couple of years ago. So that is about my speed. Tang gives me 9-7 and 9-6 when we played.

Most shortstop speed players, I will play even. I know you're out there, just let me know where and when.

Good luck with your quest. When I posted "Old Man Looking For Action" a few months ago, it stirred things up a little, but pretty much with the same old customers, but we did bet a little more and that didn't turn out in my favor. The offers for new games were few and too tough. I wish I could get down to SoCal so we could play some (anything but banks) but do not think I will be coming down anytime soon. Maybe if you get up here to visit Chuck we can try that 8/7 one pocket for $50/$100 a game. I have attached an old article I like to look at from time to time to remind me I really could play a bit at one time. John

I tell you what Im gone do Jay! I dont like anyone in the La area looking for action and not be able to find none. So heres what I wanna do, I wanna to play you some 8 ball on the Bar Table 40 or 50 agame at any bar in the Long Beach or surrounding areas and lets lock up like 3 or 4 hundred and see what happens. Im sure you will like the game if I dont sound familier you can get the line from Tang or anyone else around here. No disrespect Jay just want to make sure you get faded, as we know it aint too many in are area that get down! Black Jef

Thanks Jef for the offer. I do know who you are, and that you play good. Actually I have several games on the table now, so you'll have to take a place in line.

I played some One Pocket with Bamadog last night, and we had a nice little match. A Race to Four, with a friendly little wager. I'll let him tell you how the game worked out. All I will say is that he plays a very strong defensive game. The first game was a real battle. I enjoyed it.

Eight Ball on a bar table is definitely not my first choice, but bar table pool is not totally foreign to me. I may be willing to play you some on good equipment. You are probably a favorite over me at this game, but because I don't know how you play, we can start out even. If you are willing to play for $20 a game, I'll try you some. If I think we are close, we can raise the bet.

I do know where there are some excellent Diamond bar tables in Hawthorne at Mr. Lucky's. I have only played there one time, but I like the equipment. Let me know when you want to come for lunch. With maybe a little pool thrown in.
