Looking for places to play pool in Baltimore/White Marsh

GoTulane

Shizzle-rific
I will be in town until the 12th, and looking for places to play pool in White Marsh/Baltimore. Can be bars, pool halls, etc., just some place to play some games.
Please post any ideas.

Thanks,

Michael

You could try "Top Hat" on Satyr Hill Rd. It's up north near Parkville/Towson. I think there's a Sports2000 or Running Out Billiards in Dundalk which is southeast Baltimore. Not sure about the actual White Marsh area for pool.

If you're adventurous, there's a big Tiger Pool Tour event in Frederick (just over an hour from White Marsh) this coming weekend Oct 6/7. See http://www.TigerPoolTour.com. Haven't heard who's coming but there's always a really strong group of players. Dennis Hatch, Shawn Putnam and Mike Davis came to our last event that Shin Park won.

the Tiger event may have a few less because the Carolina Open is happening October 2 - 7, 2007. hope Tiger gets a great turnout!

Nice place to play

Champion's is a nice place to play. The Gabriel tables in the back play really great and true. Some of the other Brunswicks and Olhausens are not as good, but the Gabriels are sweet. Also, plenty of big screens to watch the college games on.

Nothing really in White Marsh but Parkville has a couple places. If your looking for action go to either Top Hat or Kelly's Cue club. If your just looking to get some games in with some cool people and decent shooters go to Cheers (use to be Champions) in Parkville. I'd recommend going to Parkville (only 10 minutes from White Marsh) because Cheers on a tuesday is league night but they have open tables for anyone to shoot on so you will definitely find a game and if you dont like it there Top Hat is right next door. I would not recommend going to Cheers on a thursday though because it is packed so you might not be able to find an open table.

Top Hat would be my choice. $2.75/hr, Brunswick Gold Crowns, Free Coffee and decent players. Tournament every Sunday. If you looking for action as well, you will certainly be able to find it. If you want to meet up and play a fellow AZer, send me a PM and we can work out a convenient time to meet.

thanks for the help

I will try to get out there on Saturday 10-6-07 at night to check it out and play a few games. Just looking to have some fun, and maybe small $$$ games or for drinks. Didn't bring my cues, just gonna shoot off the wall, and get a few beers after a long training week here in Baltimore. Call me if interested in playing some with an AZ'r from out of town, who has a good game, but haven't played in 5 weeks, with all of the moving around the country. Need to get some practice in.

Looking at going to check out cheers ( the one on Joppa road) and then to top hat if cheers is dead

Thanks,

Dammit! You were going so well until you started to talk about beers!
No alchohol at Top Hat! But it is definitely the place to go. Nobody will bug you and you will likely find someone to play some sets fpr time, maybe 5/game or $20 race to 9...good place where the focus is on pool.

went to top hat

Well, thanks for the recommendations on TopHat. Nice tables, just refelted, and tables play nice. Going to go play the Sunday 9ball tourney there today, and see what the players in this area are like. too bad there is no alcohol, otherwise the place would be perfect - being from New Orleans, we sell alcohol everywhere. So lets see how I do in the tourney. Not much of a 9ball player, but I will give it a try. Wish me luck, I'll need it.

Thanks again, since now I can go somewhere instead of spending my time at the hotel or at the mall after work.
