Hi, guys i'm looking for the best brunswick table mechanic in the u.s.a . I have Brunswick Metro Tournament Edtion that is less than a year old. I'm not happy with first setup. I need a felt perfer 860 i want to tighten up my pockets a little either go with 4" or 4.25" pockets. Can't decide to get the pockets shimed or extent the rails. I do not mind paying good money for good work. The table is located in between atlanta and macon georgia. please pm me if you have info or pricing. thanks professor1967

Wes Burden

I had wes Burden do my table at home, I have a Gold Crown 4 with the pockets cut just like a Diamond Table. After many people working on my tables in the past I know you wont get a more Proffesional than this guy.
Gabriel and Diamond fly him all over the world too fix and teach people.

Wes Burden
Tampa, Fl 813 416 2255 I am sure he wont mind me giving his number out.

Good Luck

For what it's worth, I know Wes, and I know Diamond...."very well" and I've never known Diamond to fly a mechanic anywhere to work on a Diamond table;) Wes has been flown to a location to work on Gabriel's billiards tables though:p

Professor... Just skim through realkingcobra's posts. Seeing pictures of his work, and reading his posts will likely answer any questions you may have about his caliber of craftsmanship. I am not familiar with Wes.

Good luck, and let us know when the pool party starts on that sweet Metro!

EDIT - sorry for the double post - computer froze and i wasn't sure if it went through.

I can't imagine anyone being better than Glen aka RKC aka realkingcobra. I watched him work on a friends Gandy and then on my Diamond and he's incredible. The attention to detail is unreal. Perfection is normal for him.

I'll be posting pics of him stretching my cloth as soon as I can find the dammed camera to computer cable. *&(^++@##$ :groucho:

R.I.P. Al Conte

Eh, R.I.P. means rest in peace. He passed away last year at the age of 80 and was a Brunswick specialist for over 35 years. We had just seen him 1 week prior to his passing at our WPBA Pacific Coast Classic where he was the lead table installer for our Pro Event. He will be sorely missed.

Boy, I wish there was a number to reach Al. In his absence, from the personal knowledge I have, my guess is either Glen or Ernesto Dominguez. I've seen Ernesto's up close. Glen's photos are also convincing. What a dilemma!

Eh....my point exactly;) what good does it do to mention a mechanic who's no longer around...to someone who's looking to get his table worked on in THIS world, and is not willing to wait untill the after life to call someone in to fix his table??:p;)

Glen

PS. I guess he could always call 1-800-463-4357 or 1-800-God-Help!!!

Exactly what JimS said. Glen rebuilt my GCIII three weeks ago - rebuilt the rails, narrowing the pockets by extending the subrails and installing Artemis cushions, leveled the slate, new Simonis, etc. Attention to detail is right - he even tapped a new hole in the Brunswick nameplate so that it would fit tight (something I had hardly even noticed). You can't do better than Glen ... if you can get him. But try - PM realkingcobra.

Glen,

I'm suprised at your comment. I would think that being mentioned in the same breath as Al Conte would be an honor for any table mechanic. Just the fact that he was suggested denotes a position of honor. There are many on this forum who are not aware of Al's passing.

Sorry you feel like I was disrespecting Al, but I do believe this thread started out asking for the help of a mechanic in todays world;) As one of the top mechanics in the world today, I do how ever feel it is disrespectful to mention a mechanics name in a thread that no longer can help the OP, and feel that these kind of comments better belong in a remembrance thread of Al, as mentioning his name does nothing for the current request...does it?:D I'm not getting on you or anything, but I just don't agree with your comment about my being disrespectful of Al.

I hear what you're saying Lyn, but walking in the shadows of Al can only make me second best for the rest of time, and no matter what I have to walk in my own shoes as Al and I never wore the same shoes if that makes any sense:D Al was a great mechanic, but there are others just as great, and deserve to be seen as such, and not looked upon as second or third choice because Al has passed away;)
