Check the 5th pocket on his jeans - that is where he usually keeps it. :)

I think he gave you a fake name. Rudy Sparkman is a character in a Stephen King book.

You trying to get action or kill his action?

One way to find out his speed is to step up. If you don't like the game...step back. Johnnyt

CAN'T PLAY........Randall Flagg gives him the pop and pic.

its not even for me a buddy of mine is up there getting ready to play him for a pretty reasonable sum of $$$$$$$ so he wants to know whos he is up against

Looking for the speed on a Man

I don't mean to be rude but if you need to know the speed on a player you need to go back and play in the B tournaments since your probably outclassed.

And really, that's the RIGHT way also.

I'm from the old school where pool detectives get the time honored "I don't know anything about him" answer. It used to be like asking someone how much do you make in a year or how often do you and your wife...

Some things are just not talked about. Sort of an unwritten rule in pooldom. :)

Everyone has their own sense of morals, so, IMO, there should be some rule on these forums that disallows these type of questions.

Obviously, we understand you don't want your friend hurt. But, knocking someone's action on a world wide forum isn't what these forums were built for, I think.

He'll probably play better if he doesn't know.

If you can't judge someones speed or don't have the money to lose to find out you have know business even thinking of playing an unknown to you. Rule #1=never play a stranger for anything but cheap. Johnnyt

When playing unknown action, assume he's not quite pro level, but can be on a given day. Otherwise, you've probably heard of him if you're around the tourneys a lot. Screw how the guy plays. If your friend plays good enough to jump on an unknown for a good sum of $$$$, then it only depends on how your friend plays. You can bet your life he's got a line already. If he's on the road, he knows EXACTLY how your friend plays, or he wouldn't throw his wad at it. If you just want some action, fire away. If it's your case cash, head for the bar and leave the guy alone who has your buddy pegged within a half ball, and probably two balls the best of it or he wouldn't send it in. Play cheaper and see. Save those "sendin' it in money" for when you've got the "good line." (GOOD LINE=WINNING for the younger crowd) Maximize your winning hands, and minimize your bad hands. Damn, don't you watch the WPT when reruns of 1986 Earl matches aren't on?

everyone tries

i have not been to a poolroom where a stranger comes in and EVERYONE in the joint is trying to get his speed. i am sure everyone who has replied to this thread has done the same. i don't know about posting on the internet but atleast asking some people. we all do it. your an idiot if ya don't. one thing you can be sure of as another posted said, is you can be damn sure he knows how your friend plays. around here, and it is pathetic, when a stranger comes in you know he is getting steerd. it should be that you back and go with the home town hero, but sad to say, alot of regulers will sell the whole room that they hang out in every day, down the river for a 50 doller gapper when the road player takes someone off. there is no hometown morales around here anyway. i have heard though that it is different at other rooms.
