Hi, my first time buying a cue been playing for about 5-6 years. I decided I'd be joining the league in a few months so I think its time I bought myself a cue. I've been looking at some lucasi hybrids. I'd like to buy a cue around 150$ anyone have any suggestions or offers.

Thank you very much

P.S. I live in Canada, Quebec please supply me with an average shipping cost included.

I would look around for a cheap new Joss, here is a link to one. If you go just a bit higher, a Joss is a much nicer cue than a Lucasi. Here is a link to an example. http://www.cheapcues.com/Joss_Pool_Cues_JOS102.asp

I would also search around on these forums for a cheap used one. I think they are one of the best entry level cues. There was a nice one one here the other day that had a slight roll out but it was cheap and was really nice. If you search you might be able to find it.

For under $150 you can get a Players HXT shaft on one of their cues, great playing shafts with a Kamui black soft tip! They offer one for $99 actually, best bang for the buck going.

Lucasi cue line

Look at Lucasi cues, they have all kind of series but in general they all whell price and they play pretty good as a starter pool cue.

I could also update this cue with a nice Low Deflection shaft, take a look.

Seybert's sale them also. :-)

Based on what I've been suggested this far I came up with two choices for now...

Joss jsm-20 http://www.brandedbilliards.com/joss-jsm-201-pool-cue.html

and

Players HXT15 http://www.seyberts.com/products/Players_HXT15_Pool_Cue-101612-10161.html

Obviously I understand that Joss is twice the price, but my question is would there be a considerable amount of difference for me to go for the joss instead as I've seen it mostly around 300$

Thank you

I think the HXT E10 is a much better looking cue. The HXT shaft with Mauri Black Soft tip is very nice technology, the E (exotic woods) series of Players are very nice sticks. No CNC.

Funny thing. I hit balls with that Joss JSM20. Played jam up and the one I saw had killer Cocobolo.
I almost bought it but got a Lucasi instead.

Hi, measureman ,

Out of curiosity what was the reason you decided to go with a Lucasi instead of that Joss?

I have brand new players cues in stock, choice of HXT4 $125 Shipped,
the HXTE10 or HXTE20 $150 Shipped

I was waiting for that question.
The Joss had a stiffer tapered shaft then the Lucasi which produced a stiffer hit. I liked the slightly softer hit and the shaft taper of the Lucasi better. Just a personal preferance.

I i've been apporached for valhalla I couldn't find any review on them. I find that the design is very nice but am unsure quality and playability wise anyone could comment on them?
