hi

John come to long island we need players like u around here!! And when u need your golf fix bethpage black isn't far away :)

funny thing is long island would be a great place for my career.

i like to golf, fish, dirtbike, streetbike, etc and where i live is great for all that stuff but poolwise its a joke.

long island on the other hand would be perfect for my game but no good for the other hobbies.

thats my problem i do to many other hobbies and i should practice way more and go to way more tournies and give more lessons etc.

long island would force me to do more pool related stuff and it would be nice to run 200 plus and have people appreciate it.

anyway ive gotten a few poolrooms contacting me so we will see where i end up by the best offer.

obviously i have a few places if i could pick and long island is one of them.

Never heard of you.

Anyway... have you ever thought of joining a league?

Seriously... John, have you considered Jacksonville? Plenty of great players there (especially Thorsten Butch, & Neil ... iron sharpens iron) - there are plenty of tournaments - plenty of people to travel with - its not too far away from home - there's also TPC Sawgrass ... you're familiar with a lot of the people there - IMO, its the perfect location for you to do a trial run. If it doesn't work out, just drive back to Milton.

I second this, Jacksonville is one beautiful city in the southern parts up along the St. Johns river. Jet skiing is a must on that landmark. I grew up there I should know.

Sawgrass and the world golf villiage.. just to give an idea, jville was going to have a six flags put there but decided the course would go instead.. that gives a person an idea on the amount of land it covers.

Aside from gorgeous beaches, higher end of the class people, and natural looking suburbia.. there's the pool rooms!

There's something like 400 APA teams in Jacksonville alone so a good damn many of people there enjoy pool. Bankshot billiards is the pool hall to be at. Neil is the house pro there I believe.

The real gem is about 30 mins south of Jville in Palatka. They have a fairly nice looking room with about 20-25 tables there. There's quite a few A players and up that visit there and it use to be a hot bed for talent not to long ago before the economy went down.

Last time I visited I played Neil from banks and a few other "up there" names.

Oh and not to mention those are the best tables i've ever played on by a long shot. It's basically like skiing on ever table i've played on in there.

John, I talked with my room owner and would like to have you up here! If you want pool you really can't get much better than up north or the midwest. Call me and let's make something happen, even if its just for a months. You will not find better people than up here, small country town where pool and golf is what we do. It would be win, win for everyone!

I wouldn't come to Arizona if I were you. We have too many dirt bike trails and dunes.

Not to mention mountain bike trails (oh yeah, people hike on them too). I've heard rumors that pool players go out on those mountain bikes around here and are never seen nor heard from again in the pool room.

Just an idea, and I have no idea if Joe Rogan would be able/willing, but he recently tweeted something along the lines of he wishes there was a 24/hr pool hall in LA. LA has EVERYTHING you could want, and you mentioned earlier that you had family in Cali as well as a best friend.

Maybe you two could open a room together? What a combo... John Schmidt and Joe Rogan. I see you guys already know each other from your avatar :P Seems like the perfect solution to me.

If I were you, I would visit all the hot spots first....then make your decision from there. It's obvious you can go wherever you want, but the chemistry has got to be right.
