Looks as my learning curve just got derailed

Looks as my learning curve just got derailed or slowed way down. I worked hard and bought a few things I knew I could resell with the intention of going to Stan Shuffet 2 day course. I get the $500 raised and the wife tells me with christmas coming we need about $500 to buy the kids, grand kids and parents gifts. At first I told her we will have to find that money somewhere else as this is my lesson money. After a day of being selfish I handed her the $500 and told her to even though I wanted to go take the lessons I needed to do what right.

The money was folded in half. She folded it in half again and put it her pocket. The following morning she did the wash and forgot to take the money out of her pocket. I went to change the cloths to the dryer and found 5 $50 dollar bills. But the 6th $50 and 2 $100 were missing. We looked inside and out of every piece of clothing. We back tracked and checked every inch of the house. We then took the washer apart down to bare bones. The money was not there. No one else was in the house so I am lost as to where it vanished too. I know my wife would not have tried scamming.

So now I miss out on my lessons and am still short on Christmas funds. This happened Thursday. I was upset and pissed about it. But tried blowing off after all I could not do anything to fix it. The only reason I am posting this now is I am pissed about my play tonight at league. I was just made a SL5 and I played like a 2 and lost both matches.

Sorry for the rant but I needed to vent without making my wife feel worse.

FIRST!

Sorry for your misfortune...Maybe the money is chilling with the socks that disappear.

Bad joke, sorry. I know sometimes that washing machine can be brutal on paper stuff. Its probably wadded up stuck in the corner of a pocket.

Let us know if you find it!

8up,

don t worry about it, and even so don t let you bring down- your family should/will always be the No 1 (hope so^^). You ll find a bit later a chance to chase your target. I feel with you and can really understand how you re feeling- it s always hard if you want something and not able to *afford* it-but you will for sure in the future!

keep your head up, keep shooting-

just a thought

real money will not disintergrate in the washing machine, however, most fake money will if its not linen based paper, could you have been given some fake money maybe? did you happen to find a small wad of something in the wash?

This is a very good point -- in our financially-starved society these days, there is a rash of counterfeiting going on, the likes of which we haven't seen in decades. The name of the program escapes me at the moment, but a couple months ago, there was a 20/20-style program on TV about this, and it caught my ear from the other room.

If it's not already too late, check your filters in your washer, and if you've dried your clothes, check the lint trap/filter in your dryer. You might see bits of paper that look like the remnants of a receipt, but perhaps weren't?

Hope you located this "money in limbo"!

Good news is that someday, after you've forgotten all about this, you'll stick your hand in a pocket and pull out a nice surprise.

Not to incinuate anything, but if your kids are old enough, perhaps they got their hands on it?

Again, i dont know you or your family nor am i incinuating anything negative about your family. I would never do such a thing, just offering suggestiong.

The washer was striped down to include removing tubs and hose off pump. No peper material anywhere. The cloths have dried and nothing in lint trap and each piece of clothing checked inside and out. We have no children living at home and no one had came over. It unexplainable, unreal and beyond me. Maybe God has seen my stroke and decided lessons wont help.To save me $250 he only let half disappear.

It's possible that the IRS has taken it under the guise of potential new taxes :)

Sorry for your misfortune. Sounds like your wife has the same problem with money that mine has. My wife doesn't respect money...there was a time when I would stumble across bills just lying around (kitchen table, random boxes, random drawers...).

In your case, tossing $500 in your pocket like its a quarter was asking for trouble. Unfortunately, trouble came knocking.
