I have come up with a couple of old Meucci ..i have searchered the net for info on the Chess and the Gambler . i think the Chess is a MO-8 one of the first run of cues that Meucci made mid 70s by what i can tell. were these made my muecci himself ? does anyone know any production numbers ? I know i had never seen one till i got this one and i live Muecci 50 miles from the current plant . i also have the Gambler i found it at the same pool hall the Chess come from . i got the Gambler because when i was a kid in the pool halls i had seen a few of them and couldnt afford one . 20 years later i had the money in my pocket when a guy come up with it in a old old leather case i hate to say i give a lot more for the Gambler than the Chess cue but i did get a sweet deal on the Chess cue . is there any waY to tell the age of the Gambler ? the guy said mid 80s.

I really enjoy shooting with them . its different than the Bill Mcdaniel i have been shooting with for the last 13 years . i know a lot of people think they are junk and i wouldnt buy a new one but i can say im a old Meucci fan. thanks for the read and any info.. Darrell

The old logo Meucci Originals and the early Gamblers (made around the time the logo changed) both hit very well. I had a 1st generation Meucci Gambler (clubs) that I bought in the early 90s, and 2 x O-1s that I won around a year later (one in a tourney, one in a cash game, and I still have them). They all hit very well (the metal-jointed O-1s hit a bit more solid than the Gambler to me, so I sold my Gambler). Glad you got your old Meucci. I also think the older Meuccis hit a lot better than the new ones.

My favorite has been the MO-5.

If anyone has this cue and is interested in selling it, please message me.

I have an mo-6. I used to play exclusively with it. Now it's my break cue. The coloring is lighter but the butt work is the same.

I won many a tournament using that cue.

old Meucci

I love the old original Meuccis. The Chess Meucci is a real treasure. The Gambler meucci was probably made after 1990 and there are a lot of them around. Don't listen to anyone who mocks the meuccis. The "Originals" hit well and unique in their artistic design. I used to have a number of them until my wife found out how much they were worth. I now shoot with an 84-7. A beautiful cue that has no nickname but I would not let it go.

I have owned several different cues, the one cue I regret getting rid of is a Gambler.

Back then, if memory serves, they were standard black wrap with clubs and white wrap with hearts. I had one that was Hearts with a black wrap. My wife was actually pissed when I sold that cue.

I have used Meuccu cues since Bob Meucci went in to buisiness for his self. I own cues made in 1975 and cues made today and I still like them. Here is the latest cue I had Meucci make. A combination of the Gambler 3 and a Power Piston 4. I recently had a burgandy snake skin wrap installed (no picture of new wrap).

Ok, I took a photo of the new wrap. Tell me what you really think.

Well, to be honest with you I liked the lower part of your cue in the first pics but didnt like the pictures of the overall cue.

The new wrap was a HUGE improvement

Nice looking cue.

i admit that i wasnt big fan of the meucci myself but when i seen my chess cue pulled out with a joss and a few Mcdaniels the guy was showing me it cought my eye . then when he priced it to me i broke his arm off to get it away from him before he changed his mind .

Ace that is a sweet cue like the colors ....

pulzcul i found that site and looked it over alot of good info.

shadowcat im thinking of getting some new shafts made and start shooting with them .

what ferrell and tip would work best do you think?

first "good" cue I ever played with was my pops' old Hustler (early 70's)

I don't have a single negative thing to say about that cue, and I've never shot with another Meucci, so.....

I use it every now and then on my home table, and wonder what the heck all the negative press is about 'em. Have zero problem shooting with dad's original Schuler as well, but again, don't take it "out". I could easily play with either as my main player, but they are keepsakes now, and my Jacoby is staying in the bag for a long while!

You should contact Steve Lomax.I saw his collection of well over 100 meucci's.I think there up for sale.

i have been playing with a Predator shaft for the last 6 months and the gambler shaft with the meucci taper ans the feel that i could put more touch on the cue ball ...
