Low deflection shafts and cue makers

Hi guys. Just wondering if some cue makers sort of resent companies like predator or OB, for creating low deflection shafts. Has their sales effected demand for custom work? Also wondering if any cue makers have tried to create a low deflection shaft of their own. Thanks in advance for your input.

We here at CA$H cues offer a low deflection, ferrule-less shaft. Please take the time to click the link below to read about our shaft and testimonials from our customers. I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have after you have read the thread. Thanks

My son builds a shaft called the "Shuriken Shaft" that is internally re-enforced and gives less deflection and greater stiffness in the back end than most shafts. He makes a laminated and non laminated version. We don't resent anyone for making what they consider to be superior playing products. I think it is good for business as it keeps the players looking for something that plays better, and in turn might cause them to buy a new cue also. I have built butts to match these specialty shafts.

I think the low deflection shafts are both good for the game and good for cue makers. Many people want new cues fitted with the new shafts and I have no problem making a cue and matching it up with another shaft. I have several orders for cues with "predator" shafts now.

So do I. I always keep a supply of Predator 314, Z, OB1 and OB2 shaft blanks in stock to install on both my cues and so as to be able to match up to others cues. I match around 20 blanks a year.

I have never used one on a cue I've made, but do use them as a repair shaft. I personally don't like them...JER

Many cuemakers make LD shafts, including me. As for resenting Predator - I only kick myself for not having 100's of thousands of $$$ for advertizing to get everyones attention.
