Low deflection shafts and higher end custom cues

I've played with both and prefer solid maple. However, the difference isn't as great some have stated. That said, I believe LD is suited more for 9-ball. Deflection allows for creativity needed in other games like one-pocket, 14.1, banks, etc.

Of course, this my opinion only. Your results may vary.

What could this mean? Are you suggesting that there are shots that one can make with a standard shaft that they cannot make with a LD shaft? If this is what you'e saying, I think that is not correct. I can't imagine you are implying that the persons shaft (LD or otherwise) has an impact on their creativity? That sounds odd. What are you implying here?

I'm not him, but maybe what he's saying is that a little squirt - if you know to anticipate it -- can be a good thing. Sorta of like having a good curve ball in addition to the fast ball.

That might be true for swerve, but not for squirt. Squirt adds nothing that you can't get more accurately by simply pointing your cue somewhere else.

And swerve is the same for all sticks.

You want it...buy it. Ozone and a few other suppliers might have a no hassle return/refund policy if you do not like it. I know they have a great return policy on the cues they sell.

perfect practice makes perfect

practice, practice, practice......

Hi thefonz,

Can you explain more, I would like to know.....your tricks.

Just the other day I was hearing Ron Rosas (a really great LA shortstop of considerable speed in his day) trying to explain to a C+ player how to alter your stroke in order to apply english with low squirt. The guy wasn't getting it, and I was just figuring "get a Predator" (which wasn't available in Ron's heyday).

Heeding Ron's instruction would be a wiser decision... If one wants to be a "better" player.

Hey no kidding he has turned into a bit of an instructor. I didn't see him at his peak but I understand he was way strong. He still plays scary good with HUGE cue-ball location and control.
