Boy does that kind of thing make me sick, especially weeks before I entrust a butcher to handle my hogs and return the meat I actually raised.

Some meat processing companies in this area have been guilty of keeping/high grading whole sides of beef/pork ...

....makes me sick to think someone would steal from packages in route. Hang 'em by the gonads.

WELL that about sums it up! Someone taped it and the ONLY folks that had it in hand were postal employees. I cannot wait to hear what the manager at the post office has to say tomorrow. Let me know what they tell you Rob and I am happy to ship it back for them or you to see if it helps. Maybe the workers are targeting insured/delivery confirmation required packages assuming there must be something worth money in the package..

I don't want to make anymore of a headache for Dan. I want him to get his DVD's so this can be over. Maybe I will get lucky and it is at the post office. LOL.

I support that. Settle up and move on. You're a gentleman. Hope it does show up. And if it does and you end up with an extra set someone will buy it from you.
 
And just for the record, Dan (OP) is a stand up guy and if the box was empty it was empty. Glad it all got resolved.

PS: MIght need to "borrow" you DVD when you're done :)
 
Dan...Next time tell him Randy or Scott sent ya...then you'd get a better deal! LOL He sold a whole bunch of them in Vegas last May, and in Chicago last month for $50, to anybody who wanted them. Regardless, the dvd set is jam up, and worth every penny...at any price!

So what your saying is anybody can get them from Jerry for $50.00 then I guess Jerry owes Rob $20.00 for overcharging him. Guess I will make a call to Jerry this morning just to be sure. Thanks Scott your a big help!

Hey RJ, Thanks for the note. Rob has done everything he can to make things right here. He went ahead and ordered direct from Jerry instantly at his own expense to correct the situation. Kudos should also go to him..
 
Dan...Well, it's certainly not unheard of for people with dvds or books to sell them "off-list" when they are out somewhere a bunch of people are. The web site would certainly have the 'MSRP' Like I said, even at $70 it's a good deal because of the knowledge provided.

In an earlier post I said I would be going to my local post office this morning to report this incident. When I arrived I asked to speak with a manager and was met by a friendly lady named Marcy. She listened and looked over the receipt, the envelope, my postal money order, and the printed receipt from Paypal that Rob had sent me as proof that he bought the new ones. Marcy went out back and came back with the delivery confirmation scan log and found that it had been delivered to a town close by and then for some strange reason it was sent to Chicago. She made an asteric on that point and said there was no reason it should have gone to Chicago. She then asked for my phone number and said she would get back to me when she could find out more information.I also told her I knew the mail man that delivered it and spoke with him about the envelope, she took his name from me and knows him personally. I told her that I felt Rob (the sender) was completely honest and that he and I were just trying to help resolve this problem and help the post office feret out a possible thief in their organization. I did remain in posession of the original shipping envelope if Rob wants it back or if the Fargo office needs it. Stay tuned!!

Thanks Rob I feel lucky to have done business with you, many others may not have been so amicable about things. Great to know there are at least a few good people left in this world!

The NEW DVDs arrived today and I want to Thank robsnotes4u for being an honest & trustworthy member of AZ Forums.

I also would like to say that I hope the thief in our US Postal Service gets run down by a truck. Sadly this is the third instance in the last couple years for me involving our US Postal Service. They lost a money order for $1000.00 and then did not even have the ability to track it. NO more postal money orders over $50.00 for me. Then they lost the title to my daughters Honda that I mailed to her. Both above items were eventually found after all kinds of BS but now anything of value will go through FedEx or a trustworthy carrier pigeon service. Now they have some stolen DVDs that Rob sent me. My only question is WTF did the ethics go in our society??

I want to say thank you for handling this.professionally and not coming on the forum and bashing me. I cant imagine how upsetting it would have been for you. Hopefully we can play each other and have some beers someday.
