I am considering purchasing a Lucasi Hybrid cue. Looking for opinions. Is this a good purchase in the $300 - $400 range?
Not that this should really matter, but Thorsten plays with one (although I think he's in the next price range - the $500-$800 range of hybrids. I've been thinking possibly upgrading as well; I have a lower-price-range lucasi (with an OB classic pro shaft) and really like it. Although I'm reminded of it's "entry" characteristics whenever I play with someone else's cue. haha
IMO the hybrid is one of the most underrated cues on the market. I personally like the Hybrid Fusion line. Lots of features in the cue for the price.
They definitely look much different than most other cues, but for the value - I don't think you can go wrong. Lucasi is made by the same people from Predator, so you get an LD shaft and Predator technology at a lower price.
Not quite, the hybrid construction is different than the predator. Not as many wedges in the pie.
Does that make a difference? I don't know.
I do know they are a good cue, and have challenged the idea of what a pool cue should look like.
For that I give them props. Thorstens cue, is very sharp looking. http://www.seyberts.com/images/products/lhf50.jpg
Since we talking about Lucasi hybrids I have a question that I hope someone can answer. My cue is the LCH97 model which has a retail list price of about $450. In looking at the available hybrid models I see one that goes for $1149 list, model LHF60. What makes this cue cost more than double mine if it using the same technology?
