Wow! What a response! I’m flattered gents. Thank you for the welcome.
To answer the question. Yes, I did 22 years and 1 day. I joined when I was 18 right outta High School. Retired as an E8 1st Sgt. I was in the Desert the first time. Airborne instructor at Benning. I was stationed in Berlin when the wall came down (best duty I ever had.) Good to see so many welcoming Vets on here. I didn’t realize
Anyway, to the cases. I have made 2. Same basic design . The first one was done in Korea. It is a 2x4. Very light. Made the insides out of Golf Club Tubes lined with synthetic wool. Very lightweight. The end caps were made of milk carton plastic from the chow hall, covered in leather. Picture is pretty poor...

Next we have the new one. It’s a 3x6 with a PVC pipe inner construction. Fully lined with spongy material you find on the ceiling of your car. Fake stingray skin, trimmed with black leather.
Inside view of the new one...
I am thinking about embroidering this snake onto the case, just forward of the pocket. I scrimshawed this on my break cue butt when I was stationed in Korea...
...and finally, a pic of my Table. I built this after I retired as a present to myself. I saw the original in Japan and got it as close as I could. The original was a oversized 8'. This one is a 7ft, and I used leather padding on my pockets, rather than the woven bamboo on the original. It took me 4 months...
Thats it! Hope you'all liked the "gettin to know Roy" post

Thanks for all the kind words. I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can.
