+1...and I bet you're right about any messages. I was standing right next to him when he broke his shaft on the carpet a couple of years ago playing Alex. It was certainly no accident.

Why is it an upset? Have they played before?

I would of said the same if Kevin West would of beat S.Daulton, and this also would of been an upset and they never played before .

I was trying to keep up with that match on the live updates. I didn't expect that. It will be interesting to see how far Monica can go. She probably won't have that strong of a 2nd round draw so we shall see what happens.
Fran if you would of beat Earl or Sigel in a tournament or for money playing even, would that be an upset?
Its an upset because if you asked 100 pool players who would win, the majority would probably pick Larry. I understand what you're trying to get at...
Monica was the underdog, as defined by the betting line. This isn't a male vs. female thing. Its a "most people believe that Larry plays better than Monica thing"

Same here. I remember a couple of years ago when she won her first big WPBA event. I watched it on my DVR. She was really overwhelmed with emotion...it was a touching story. So I'm glad for her, and hope she goes far.
