I'm going to have Jack Madden make me a cue. Never had one of his cue's so please give me some input on how they play.

I have one and it's my main player. Suits my taste better than any other cue I have ever played with. Your mileage may vary.

I stopped buying cues when I got my Madden. Best cue I have shot with bar none.

Considering you can get one for a little more than a mid range predator it is a no brainer.

jack madden is the best

the only cue i got after my madden was another madden as a backup for when i have to send it off to him for tip replacement or for him to take out the dings in my cue because as careful as i am they do happen, some pretty bad too
he takes them right out, sends it back in a few days tops
he's a great cuemaker, has great customer service, and a great player too i've heard
i told him one day i'm gonna pay him a visit and see if his great playing is the real deal

Jack Madden's cues are very sought after. I've loved the hit of the one's I've played with, including Jack's personal cue. He was a formidable opponent among the pros years ago, and still plays quite well. He knows how to make a great playing cue! It doesn't hurt that he lives in God's Country... Montana!

Jack made me a cue about ten years ago..If I'd had it thirty years earlier, you might be saying, "Efren who"?...J/K, but it is the best hitting cue I've ever played with !

When you poke it forward the cue ball goes in the direction you poke it in.

It's pretty much impossible to say how a cue plays since the hit and even how the shaft and tip reacts are 100% based on who is using it. He has a good reputation for good work, but you probably know that since you already decided you were going to have him make a cue for you.

I've had one for years. Jack is one of the very best in the business and makes a fantastic playing cue.

Dick...While Jack was known more as a rotation games player, I was wondering if you two ever crossed cues, since he lived in AZ for quite a while? :D

I've hit with a few of his cues, and they're all great. I have an old Huebler he did a very nice refinish on and a shaft that he made for the cue. It's a great shaft, that somehow is stiff with great feedback but doesn't have the pronounced taper bump that some cues have (ike a stock Huebler). I really need to just have him make me a cue.....

madden cues

I have a 2013 dark cocobolo 3/8X10 flat face joint that plays and hits great Jack is an excellent cue maker.

Jacks cues are excellent players. They have a PERFECT balance and play great. Jacks customer service is great also. He stands behind anything he builds and will make any adjustments long after you buy the cue. I visited at the end of 2013 and believe me he is the real deal on the table also. Hell of a nice guy and really goes the extra mile for his customers also.

Wrong generation Scott !..I've known Jack since he was a youngster...He was always one of my biggest rooter's/supporter's !..Also, you might say I 'mentored' him a little at pool !..He made that cue for me gratis, I guess in appreciation for those early years..Pretty neat gesture, huh ?..I even tried to teach him one pocket, but his head was not shaped right ! (LOL) ;)

Madden

I've got one of his cues... plays very well (it's only for sale because I've found something I like better).

One of my comments to you is, you need to talk to Jack. I believe he goes out of his way to match his cues to the player (and your game). I know he has used multiple tapers and joints and he likes to talk to his customers and give you the cue that you want.

Jack made me a purple heart cue a few years back. It was the first cue I ever had with a leather wrap and I found out that I couldn't adjust to it. The cue itself was gorgeous and well built. It was a 3/8x10 joint with black leather wrap, silver rings and two tiger maple shafts. Knowing I probably wouldn't use it, I sold it. As expected, it held it's value.

If I were to have another cue made, I would definitely give Jack a call.
