Looks kind of cool in my opinion... Just thought I'd share :smile:

Shot with the Vivitar 7mm fisheye and canon 450D... exposures range from 20s to 1 second (f/11... I THINK... cant tell in the exif since the lens doesn't communicate with the camera)

Very nice. It looks a little bit like Drexeline Billiards in Pennsylvania to my eye. This is a great photo style, kind of like a panorama. :smile:
 
The table to the right looks like some heavens shining on that table! The table on the left looks almost ghost like... But that is an awesome photo, i may be printing it out and framing it. If that is ok... :cool:

Really nice work. The fisheye distortion gives a very unique look.

What kind of treatments did you use in Photoshop to get the grain & coloration in the final product?
 
Nice photo and effect! The photo has a great feel to it and the HDR in combo with the film grain is interesting in the warmth that it creates.

The empty space in the lower right bugs me a bit.

If it were mine I'd consider doing one or more of the following:

Make a copy of the ceiling and experiment with adding it back as the floor. Maybe a 180 horizontal flip with lessened opacity.

Crop out the empty space and make it into a 'three piece".

Add something to the free space.

I had some free space in a recent piece that I did and tried to handle it (as shown below)

Yeah that space bugs me as well... I am going to try to recreate the exposures later tonight once everyone's gone with the camera in a different spot...

I only used photoshop to resize the image... I was playing around with making HDR's in photoshop and found that photomatix is much faster and easier to use. The amount of noise (or grain) is a mystery to me but I sure don't mind it haha. The coloration is a result of me playing around with the tone mapping... but its a pretty typical result of HDR images especially at the range of exposures I took. Typically you'd use the exposure bracketing function in the camera to take three images at a maximum range of +/-2, which won't necessarily make the final image very dramatic (more functional that way, though), but because I used 5 exposures with a larger gap between exposure values (20 to 1 seconds) that is essentially the end result... the large differences between one exposure and the other is probably why there is so much grain.

Haha... thanks man.. I dont know how large you can make a 900x600 jpeg at 50% compression... maybe a 4x6?

Why is the 'a' proper when the H is pronounced? I always thought 'an' for where the 'h' is silent like 'an hour' and 'A' for when the 'h' is not silent like. "a hitch" you wouldnt say i put an hitch on the car would you?

Lately ive been hearing a lot of 'an history lesson' and similar so i dont really know anymore. Somebody pitch in please.

HDR is an acronym for 'High Dynamic Range'... Acronyms are treated as if they are not abbreviated.. Basically you'd be saying "an high dynamic range photo" instead of "a high dynamic range photo" even though it is simply "HDR." The English language sucks haha.

Also, methinks the whole mistake of using "an" with an acronym beginning with "h," is because of the "aych" sound of pronouncing the letter "h" -- making the person subconsciously apply the rule, "prefix 'an' with a word that begins with the 'a' sound (or any other 'vowel' sound)."

Personally, I've never heard someone prefix a word like "history" with "an." Unless that person is pronouncing "history" with a silent "h" (yielding "istory") -- again, making that person subconsciously apply the "use 'an' to prefix a word that begins with a 'vowel'" rule.

Anyway, apologies for the tangent, but hopefully this is helpful!

Like i said and even worse "an history lesson" I heard a high society lady say it like that 30 times on the public funded highbrow channel.

Anyway-Thanks guys for the lesson on 'a' 'an' w re to Acronyms- You learn something new evey day and unfortunately i forget 3 things i already knew everyday too.

Actually, I like that space. It gives me the feeling that that's what I'd see if I was standing there looking at the room. There are times to add and times to lay back and let it go as is. Personally, I like it as it is.

Well, I'm an English teacher so I can concur with what you say. I would like to add, though, that this is one thing that I think needs to change with the times. Although we all know that "HDR", for example, is "High Dynamic Range" we have come to just calling it "HDR" so, in my opinion, using "an" should be acceptable.
