Make sure your getting the tip you ordered and not just the one the repair guy has in

@Coco

you completly wandered from the subject! Your answer was nothing but completly off-topic! And furthermore in this way a really bad offense towards Geno (in my personal opinion!).

I thought you re an expirienced player- but with this senseless and off-topic response....well, i can just wonder.

If you are used to play daily with a SS Tip, it s a big difference to play with any other tip!
Geno is 100% a player WHO COULD <---COULD<---- adapt with another tip. But not within minutes by thinkin he could use his cue like always!

Still scratching my head- or did you just want to use some nice coloured big letters ?

@Geno: The bucks will come back :-)

I would like to direct my responce to geno (only) if possible.
Without having poeple answer for him.................

It woundnt be fair to judge ever pro By earl stricklands temperment.

I repair pool cues, and I am not sure why you made the choice to suggest that every cue repair man is a liar and dishonest and every one should treat cue repairman this way.

I did a little reseach on tips on e bay , by the way kamui is spelled
k a m u i .
My rough guess is 500 to 1000 fake kamui and moori tips are being sold in Canada and the lower 48 states per month. I will be more then happy to share this information to you in private pms only. I dont need to show dis honest people another way to screw over pool players.

The majority of these fake tip are being sold on ebay.......................
Your advise was not thought out sorry to have to inform you of this.

I have never installed anything but what the customer asked for...........

I really think when people start slinging shit it is impossible not to get shit on yourself.

But you made the choice to include every cue repairman in your judgement.

I stock about 15 different brands of tips. If a customer wants a tip installed that I dont stock and they bring the tip in I will install it.
but I will not warranty it . I have no idea if the tip has gotten wet so I cannot warranty a tip that the customer has spilled a beer on.
almost every tip I install is layered <that is why I have this policy .

If I have the tip in stock the customer has the full confindence that i will warranty the tip I installed.......... tip falls off, or the tip is delaminating or De Bonding > layman terms falling apart. but im not going to install a tip you bring in and warranty it, the same as the tips I stock in a controlled environment .

I do not understand why you decided to sling shit at ever cue repairman but I feel you did.
I play pool for money from time to to depending on my mood and if i can afford it. Mainly to keep thing interesting. But I wouldnt play for money with a unproven tip. It is like going grizzly hunting with a rifle that has not been test fired or sighted in at that point your the meal.
But when Pool players say Im the best and someone challenges you for money pride is a factor. and when the pro looses his pride has been crushed. And as usual pride once again kicks in and we come up with some excuse, or blame other then ourselfs.
I have 4 shafts for my main player and would never hit the road with out at least 2 shafts. or a back up cue
The few pro's I know can play with almost any cue its the prayer not the cue.
a little saying I have is tools dont make the mechanic.
In this case The tip dosent make the pool player.

To wrap this up this up, not every tip is the same....................................
I have had snipers fall off and dedond but over all they are a great tip.
It was your choice to enter into a money game with a umproven tip. This is your fault not the cue repairman.
If the cue repair man didnt put the right tip on seek him out and take it up with him.Instead of having to take it out on every one that sales tips in a professional maner.
But this thread reminds me of some 3 year old kid in the sand box crying and blaming the world because he got sand in his eyes.
At this point and time we can belittle ourselfs and just start talking all kinds of shit like bunch of spoiled brats that must get their own way.

If this happened me I would get the right tip on and ask for a rematch At 1000.00 the pride is riding on the the other guy if nothing else it will shut them up On the bragging issue.

I will loose game after game after game just to get my oppenet to put his money where his mouth is.

I dont like what You said about cue repairman and their ethics.
And every part of me wants to say somthing rude back to you.

But I rather not jump into the sand box with talking shit about people that iI dont know .

The next time you travel through N nevada contact me I will install any kamui tip on your cue for free.
And if you dont like my work then you have a reason to bad mouth (me)
untill then please leave my profession out of you shit slinging.

Hi there Mike and I appreciate your offer.

I said some of the guys that put on tips. Not everyone. Please read the start of this thread.

The tips I bought on the internet are from a very reputable guy in California. I found him on the for sale section here on AZ. I was very careful I'm aware of fake kamui tips.

I've been traveling around and I'm just sharing my experiences.

Sorry I hit a nerve here. i'm sure you are very reputable, honest and do a great job. This is why this probably bothered you so much.

If you had some of the stuff done to yourself on the road it would probably bother you even more.

Looking forward to meeting you some day.

Keep up your good work. We need the good ones for sure.

Geno........

geno responce

Hi geno

I had to dig deep to make that offer to you.( LOL )
Moving forward if we may .
I had a guy destroy one of my shafts on my main player.
It took a year to get a new shaft.
I had 3 shafts made up.

Tips on ebay there are more honest then dishonest people on e bay.
but it doesnt change the fact that the fakes are being sold on there.
I honestly dont understand why kamui hasnt done more about it.
but that is a different subject

Some guys care, some do not, I have made mistakes but have always made good on them. ( hanging my head low)

Anyway my offer for a new tip stands for as long as I am in the business.
And yes I would like to meet you too. If you travel I 80 northern nevada
pm me .
Sorry for my harsh words.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< I am glade i said somthing because now I can put this to rest. and you dont have any problems with me..................

Best Regards
MMike

Wow, you have got to stop referencing Willie Mosconi, and comparing everything today to him.

Why would you want to rewrite history, why would you want to forget Willie Mosconi. Should we rewrite history of all sports, are only pool.

Maybe you should read the Book Willie's Game, and get an EYE OPENING EXPERIENCE about pool, and the Great Willie Mosconi.

BTW if I could return to the past, and relive 20 years of my life it would be 1953-1973, and those were better times IMHO.

And that is relevant to what kind of equipment Willie Mosconi would be using to day....?

I'm sure its a great book. I know he was one of the icons of pools history. No one is taking anything away from Willie Mosconi. But to come on here, and repeatedly throw "Willie Mosconi didn't use it" in regards to anything being sold or taught today is foolish.

YOU have no way of knowing if Willie Mosconi would use Kamuii chalk, on a layered tip, on an LD shaft, stored nicely next to his Sledgehammer Break Cue with a phenolic tip, stored next to his way cool jump cue, in his awesome JB Cases case.... or not. So stop saying Willie didn't use it. Of course he didn't, it didn't exist! If it did exist, I expect that he would have at least considered and/or tried most anything that would make his game better.

Well Geno maybe you should splain how Old Willie Mosconi did so well at Pool without all this Hi Tech Modern Sticks, Shafts, Tips, Chalk etc. I think it was Willie's skill, and nothing more. Some of Willie's records are still being spoken of years after his death.

Willie Mosconi was a GREAT AMBASSADORS for Pool, and of Pool. Don't think we have very many today playing Pool who could wear Willie Shoes.

JMHO.
It is a well-documented FACT that Willie was unable to beat anyone with a Kamui product or an LD shaft or on a Diamond table.

Or with Nikes or that drove a Hyundai or...or...or.

It was really well-documented in Willie day he was unbeatable most of the time.

Like I said I would love to have Willie Mosconi's Skill, and Mental Game verses all the Modern Equipment and no stroke, or mental game.

If I had Willie Mosconi's Skill, and Mental Game, I might be motivated to go play in tournaments again.
