Making Sense Out Of It All~~~~~~~~~

I understand exactly where you are coming from but "to issue" means to distribute. If he had said that the checks will be "cut" or "prepared" etc. then no suggestion of distribution would exist.

But "issue" means....

"to appear or become available through being officially put forth or distributed"

Mail, is only one means of distribution. There is also Fed Ex...but they are SO unreliable...they lose $3 million worth of checks all the time! (-:

Plus, I don't think the powers that be would feel the need to be quite so clever. The IPT clearly already owes the money so promising to mail the checks wouldn't make matters any worse for them.

What is happening is just what Deno said was happening...i.e. that the IPT is stalling for time. The only question is why? With all due respect to Bernie's different take in another thread there can be only two reasons to stall.
1. They actually are negotiating for SOME kind of funding (with or without Ho) or
2. They are preparing to shut the business down.

I hope that #1 is true.

best,
jim

I stand corrected (and happily so!) as I do hope very much that the checks are issued/mailed within the next 10 days.

Well, Excussssssssse Meeeeee! .... LOL

as Steve Martin would say ... ROFL, but I was a Payroll Supervisor of Learjet for 5 years, and when I cut a check, it gets 'distributed' right away ... lol

As as far as the law passed, I do believe it is a relevant issue for Ho Interactive, as it's roots are Ho Casinos, and that the IPT is being taken on as a side venture, perhaps to become a main venture later on, BUT, with in it in mind, to promote their gambling establishments (physical and internet driven) to the general public, hoping to expand to international market.

Now that is what I believe to be true. If you disagree with me, fine.
And I think Ho is only interested because most of the initial grunt work has been done, viewed as more or less turnkey minus international broadcasting, and he sees it as beneficial to his core businesses.

That may well be right but doesn't affect what I'm getting at.Maybe I didn't make myself clear.

The situation over internet gaming and the potential problems created by the related credit card and banking payment laws and restrictions are not issues that can ever be resolved by negotiations between Ho Interactive and IPT/KT so I simply don't believe that issue is what is being discussed between those parties,if indeed anything is being discussed between those two parties.

These gaming related issues may well be a significant part of what is delaying The Ho Group from determining whether their internet gaming arm can afford to purchase any company in the first place but that is not at all the picture that KT is portraying to the pool public.Furthermore these laws and restrictions are not a surprise to The Ho Group or any other gaming group and it was common knowledge that they were about to be implemented long before IPT came "on the market".So whatever is being discussed between The Ho group and IPT/KT it's unlikely to have much directly to do with the gaming laws IMHO.That's all and you are free to disagree with that too, lol.

Hi Snapshot...<<but I was a Payroll Supervisor of Learjet for 5 years, and when I cut a check, it gets 'distributed' right away ... lol>>

Right..but that was YOU and Learjet...which is different than KT and IPT! (-:

I was just making the point that I don't think that the IPT was trying to use clever wording...i.e. to the effect that they could say they didn't intend to SEND the checks...just cut them...and if that WAS their intended meaning, they used the wrong words. (-:

Jim

So, if someone were to contact their VISA card issuer, the VISA reply might say, "we will contact you within 3-6 weeks with an update announcement" ?????

no, what it means is that the players could posibly get their money back, but it would come out of the room owner's pockets, not KT. The room owners would then have to chase the IPT for their refund. This only applies to the qualifiers of course.

 Where do you get that idea from.Isn't it the case that no-one can enter an IPT qualifier by paying the room owner?

According to IPT the only way anyone can enter a qualifier is to pay IPT direct.Certainly that is how all the entries I have been involved in have been handled. There was no choice given for those entries. It had to be by credit card direct to IPT.

As far as I know each room owner doesn't even get informed by IPT who has entered until the draw has been done, let alone get involved in taking entry fees.

Then I stand corrected. when I spoke with one room owner that was considering holding a qualifier, I uderstood this to be the method of payment. If I am wrong, I do apoligize.

That is just how he does things, I would not read any extra meaning into it. He will make announcements of various kinds and then it will all just come to an end and that will be that.

Remember this is a guy who sat on TV with John Stossel and quoted from a university study. When Mr. Stossel said that the university in question said no such study was ever done, he just sat there like being caught in a lie meant nothing to him, he just told another lie. He said that he had a copy of the study at his office and would send it to Stossel tomorrow.

Of course he never did. You and I can't possibly begin to imagine how he thinks or why he does what he does. He is a strange dude to say the least, probably a little nuts as well.

Calling Kt a little nuts is like callilng Andre The Giant a big guy.

Bernie, KT didn't say he would pay in 7-10 days. He said he would pay when the deal is finalized. That would be around the end of this week maybe if the deal closes. He's a hard guy to figure out. If there is a statement today, it will be ineresting to see what it says. Why are pool players so willling to hitch their wagon to a guy like Trudeau? I will bet you that if he pays, everyone will show up for Chicago like nothiing happened.[/QUOTE

You should reread, he said checks would go out 7-10 days after papers
were signed TODAY (Monday, 23rd) for the funding. The deal for the acquisition is suppose to be concluded by Friday, which is reasonable to me considering that there probably has to be further discussion and decisions made regarding the law that just passed prohibiting gambling on the internet in the USA. (Like figuring a way around it ... lol)

Also, posted today, European players received payments for the Vegas tournament (transfers and checks) that Deno told them last week would be sent. If KT was trying to make a get-a-way, doubt they would have sent the Vegas payments to the European players, huh?

Having less confidence in Kt than anyone on this planet, I must admitt that getting the checks from Vegas really did surprise me. I would have bet pretty good money that they would never have been paid.

Actually, I believe the email says that the checks would be issued in 7-10 days. It does not say when the checks would be mailed. I am not trying to nitpick the email or your above statement but that is what it says. Issued does not mean mailed. It would have been a lot clearer to say that the checks would be mailed on or by Novemer 3rd 2006 (10 days from today) but that was not the case.

It may have simply been the wrong choice or wording (issued versus mailed) which is an honest mistake or the word issued may have been chosen for a specific reason. I do not know which is the case. Just stating the facts as I see them

Someone needs to interpret every word this goof ball says, but, nobody at Leavenworth is available at this time.

Please, if we all started apologising everytime there was confusion, well then we would have a real mess.

Mikey is correct though, all Q payments were made directly to the IPT.
