Man charged for trading ivory

Yes and No

This isn't an animal rights issue, it's a right or wrong issue. Buying Ivory is wrong.[/QUOTE]

Buying illegal ivory is a crime, and therefore bad. Not all ivory is illegal.

Part of the problem in North America is we have lost the connection of where our food comes from.

Nobody thinks twice about snarfing down a big mac or some other multinational chains fast food offering.

First of all, this is a necroed post from half a year ago, but whatever, it's still fun to post to it!

And no, I haven't lost the connection of where my food comes from ... I know that chickens and cattle are delicious! Breed and kill as many as you can, drop the price of filet mignon. Heck, start breeding elephants in tiny little overcrowded areas as well, so that we can get as much ivory as we want! If it's OK for chickens and cattle, why not elephants?

I gotta go, I've got people over and it's my turn to shoot with my completely non-ivory cue. I've got a tough match up ahead of me, thank goodness my panda-hide wrap will soak up any sweat from my hands!

I have changed the name of this thread as it is my understanding that Mr Barringer was not arrested for selling cues. He we charged "with a misdemeanor violation of the Endangered Species Act for knowingly engaging in trade of ivory".
