I thought when he answered, you would pull out either gun and point it at him. lol
Threats and bluffs are not a good idea. The other person may believe you in strike first. My father always told me if you say something be prepared to do it. He came to America from Italy at the turn of the last century. Although I knew him as an old man even then it just took one look to know that whatever he said was meant.
Bluffing happens in life all the time.
The bluff thing very often occurs in pool rooms. You tell the guy I'll give you the 8 play some $100.00 sets. He comes back with make it the 7 and the break $300.00 a set.
He really doesn't want to play so he makes an offer he knows you will turn down. You call his bluff and say sounds good. The thing is, you are not bluffing, it is how you really wanted to play in the first place. He has trapped himself.
Chances are he will try to wiggle out which is fine. You then go back to the $100.00 set and offer the 7 and the break. Good chance you will get him to play.
Salesman use this all the time. What would you like to pay? You better not answer that question because you started the beginning of a deal. He may not even negotiate and just say yes and grab the paperwork and start filling it out.
Back to my original comments, it's not good to bluff unless you're willing to go through with it.
There's a movie that I forget the name of and these two guys are having a confrontation and the one guy punches the other guy he goes down and then he starts walking away. The guy on the ground begins shouting all Fn kill you and your whole family. The guy stops turns around walks back. He stands there for a second and says I believe you. He pulls out a gun and shoots him in the head.
I just remembered the name of the actor but not the movie it was Joe Don Baker who shoots the guy.
